How long do we have to have this go on till we make laws to stop all breeding!!! Till there are homes for the ones we already have? The fools breeding to pay thier rent and morgage need to stop and get another job! Also the ones who diside to do so anyway they need to do comunity survice. Be the ones to put the healthy unwanted animals to sleep and see it is NOT humain .The kind of people that would do such a selfish act by breeding should never say they are prolife.

the reason that all these poor animals have to be euthanized is that there are so many animals and so little room. there are folks out there who help with this by fostering animals until they are adopted thereby leaving more room in the shelter. the people at vospca don't want to euthanize any more than you want them to but due to space constrictions there is no other choice. I agree that there should be laws in place to stop people from breeding animals but here in the valley the type of people who live her just don't care about spending their money on something like that.

I'm not sure if the post #2 is for me sounded like it!Let me say i do understand thier are real good people out thier doing what they can. but the time has come that thier is just to many and i was not putting the spca down ! they have no choice but to euthanize . I have fosterd and i donate money and i owen three dogs so i have a good idea of haw it work's but we need laws to stop breeding . it is the only way to slow the population of animals down. also you might want to ask your shelter how they euthanize the helthy dogs that thier is no room for ? u know it is free to start a patition and to have a law on the books

If animal lovers would just take the time to take their pets down and get then spayed or nuetered there would'nt be this problem. Its the irresponsible ones that just don't give a damn about animals dyeing everyday . I have 2 dogs they are fixed and chiped .

This is sad news indeed. It seems apparent that pet owners today are either young, have issues with neutering (male) or in honesty are not (pet)animal lovers just pet owners. A member of my family thinks it is more important to show their 6 year-old, at the expense of the kittens and mother, the birthing process. They don't have family pets, they have animals. Family gatherings are difficult.
Tulare County is an agricultural county, and the remaining farmers have dogs and cats for their farms. The animals' purpose and responsibility is to watch the farm and guard the family; for the cats their job is to catch vermin and eat them. They're owners don't go to Pet Smart or Pet Co for food, it's table scraps.
Before neutering and spade become an issue for the law, I believe it is more important that animals belong to people who want them as companions, friends and for protection, not for fighting, breeding or work, unless they walk the blind. The subject is complicated; let's try to find a solution, before bringing law into it. All we need is another politician pandering to animal lovers and renaming a law that already exists or sinks his entire career on animal legislation. Laws are for people; and if we people use thoughtful discretion before action; not get caught up in hype and slogans; we may come up with excellent ideas for the adoption and care of these precious animals.
