Balch Park is a good place to get shot. Don't take your family there it's been turned over to gangbangers who have free reign. Gunshots heard day and night and no police protection. It's a sad commentary on our lawless society and spineless legislators. There was a murder while I was there in late July in broad daylight.

Yes, we do have law enforcement at our facility.
Although our territory does NOT include the following campgrounds: Moses Gulch, Hidden Falls, Fraizer Mill or Hendriks Pond. We are a County Campground.
We can not be held responsible for the stupidity of others.

I have been going to Balch Park/Mountain Home for the past 15 years. This past summer was the worse ever for roving gangs of teenagers and thoughless people who play radios all night and who trash thisprecious resource. I wish there was a greater police/ranger prescence or maybe not allow unaccompabied minors to camp and party there!

Balch Park is a beautiful plce to take the family, I have been going there for about 25 years. There is difinatly more low-lifes coming up there with there party's and beerand boom, boom boom music!,,The campsites are getting tore up terrible, I camp at Frazzier Mill, and some low lifes are tearing up every thing there also. The Ponds are so filthy!, the garbage is every where during fishing season!, The place is slowly going to HELL. We pay enough money in tyaxes, and I would like to see more Ranger Patrol and keep the low lifes out!. Concerned Tax Payer....

The stupidity of others does not give them the right to do whatever they want to do. It appears like you need to expand your territory to include other campgrounds that are having problems.

I have been going to Balch Park and the surrounding camp areas for over thirty years. It is still beautiful. Yes it is overun by ILLEGAL ALIENS on somedays. Mostly they are there to share in some natural beauty, just like me. That's the problem. OUR resources are stretched thin. I like it that the Park Rangers are not always in your face like in the National Parks. Those Federal Rangers think that the parks are all theirs and would rather we not even show up. They have a hard time with the word PUBLIC, and everything costs lot's of money.

I am going camping in Moses Gulch tomorrow 09-03-08. I will stay until Sunday. I plan on having an enjoyable experience, cooking outside, playing with my 60 year old lantern that my dad gave me. I love the campfire thing too. It is a nice way to while away the remaining days of Summer. I think now that the Labor Dy crowds have done their best, the campsites should be very peaceful. If you like come by and play a game of cards, or have a cool drink.......

THE LAST COUPLE YEARS HAVE LEFT OUR FOREST BURNED OUR ROADS LITTERED AND PEOPLE DEAD.THEY NEED TO CLOSE THE RIVERS TO THE PUBLIC AND HAVE A CHECK POINT LIKE WHEN YOU GO THROUGH THREE RIVERS.

I have been to Balch Park for many years during the month of October and never had a problem. It usually rains and the fishing is great. I think the keeps weeds out the non-campers and the real campers show up. I have not been there in 2 years and it would be ashame if things are really getting bad. I would love to know if nay of you have goine there in October after the Summer crowds are gone.

Balch Park is wonderful. this weekend I'll be going backpacking to summit lake out of hidden falls. I live on Balch Park Road and the a mount of traffic is too much compared to 10 years ago. I like deer season up their. There are too many gangmembers screwing up nature. 10-06-08

I have been going there and Hedriks Pond for most of my life it is always fun. We camp at Hedriks 4 or 5 times a year. Some times it gets a little loud but we always deal with it. I am leaving to go to hedriks Pond tomorrow and going to stay for a week or so.

Well I went to Moses Gulch and stayed a week. I spent all week picking up garbage left by those before me. All and all it was a very peaceful outing. I am set up for cooking in the forest. Lot's of yellow jackets (hornets). I cruised on over to lower Balch Park lake and spoke to the ranger located there. He said this year on Oct. 31st they are bolting the gates locked so you cannot even make it up the road let alone into the park area, due to gang activity. he said the mexicans are destroying everything they can access. If not destruction for fun, then ripping things apart for stealing. Spray paint and bullets everywhere. He said that over in Camp Nelson it is practically a war zone. Multiple shootings, and total disrespect for the environment. Garbage, graffiti, and rampant vandalism. Not good. So this will be the first year of NO ACCESS past lower locked gates. When will citizens get mad and demand a stop to this invasion?
