As a victim of the storm, I have to say that I've met some of the most beautiful families that words can't muster, and with these wonderful people who took there time out to volunteer was so great, they have made it a wonderful time even though it wasn't the best time for us, but they made us as comfortable as possible and from my heart to yours I appreciate everyday they gave me my wife my daughter and the other children & families there undivided attention, played games, arts & crafts, movie night and all, while away from there own families, cross country, or from the next town, county est. they did a wonderful job, and as we were there I had an idea, and that idea went so far, basically I wanted to start an volunteer barber shop and one of the first volunteers that I had met was a barber and he donated me a pair of Andis T Liners & Andis Ajustable clippers so that I can be able to carry out a plan of mine, but he didnt just donate these clippers but he made a good friend for me and himself and his name is Mark Shannon and he worked at Queens College on Kissena Blvd in Queens NY he has been a hard worker and it payed off because he also became superviser so I was not just proud of him but he motivated me, so as a result i cut nearly 150 people I also done over 20 female eyebrows with some help from another barber that cut 65 out of the 150 and his name is Country from Next Step barber shop on Kissena blvd in Queens NY, I met him as I was looking for him to donate some clipper oil and I recruited him, as well as he volunteered a day of his time to give back to all the victims that were affected so SHOUT OUT to all the volunteers, staff, and a bigger SHOUT OUT, to Queens College for giving us a place to stay, im so so grateful for that and a big shout out to all the wonderful families for showing so much unity at a time of devastation and lost, also to all that has fallen......
Sincerly yours ...
