I wonder how much thought was given to ramifications of red light cameras.

First is the safety issue. I admit it I ran a red light, and it may be my imagination, but it seems yellows have gotten shorter, but never mind that. But being hyper vigilant now has gotten me rear-ended since then.

Second are the monetary ramifications. As a non resident with some business ties to that community. I find myself avoiding trips to Round Rock for anything now. With only $30,000 in discretionary spending that isn't a big hit, but if others feel the way I do that would be a shame for Round Rock businesses. I have taken to using 130 to avoid Round Rock in my commute to work.

Third as a purchasing agent I find myself more reluctant to do business there. Not as any kind of punitive action on my part, but just as part of an avoidance ritual I am beginning to develop. With purchasing by me in excess of $5,000,000 a year that is a somewhat larger hit on their economy. Granted a good portion of that hasn't been sourced in Round Rock. But with its growth and new industries starting all the time that could have changed.

We have a facility in Round Rock that I have to visit occasionally. But it is easily accessed from 35. I have found a way to avoid the cameras. I hope the camera business ends up being a plus. But I have my doubts about it.

Good luck and maybe I will see you at one of the shops easily accessible from 130 or 45 or Austin.
