The title is misleading and wrong. The iRS has stated that the updated forms will not be available until Feb, delaying the returns for millions of taxpayers. The Democrat lead Congress is responsible for the delays.

Report the facts.

The whole Congress should be impeached. While they fiddle over non-issues like use of steroids in major league baseball, the real issues that hit citizens in their pocketbooks are left to burn. This AMT issue has been on the radar since last year, but our ADHD Congress can't focus enough to address any real issues. This is one issue the Dems own all to themselves... no blaming Bush here, gals. Pelosi is a shrill nightmare and needs to be removed NOW.

Congress owns this one. While toiling over how fair it is if only the NFL network carries a football game, they let things like this slide, directly effecting the nation. Not only is this tax outdated, it was never adjusted for inflation. In hoping that the next president will be a democrat, congress only "fixed" the AMT for one year. ONE YEAR! So just wait until the "upper tier" who this tax was originally aimed at decades ago hits the majority of the middle class owing up to thousands more in taxes as soon as one year from April. If congress can't fix the AMT, but instead chooses to threaten the NFL with hearings if a game isn't broadcast on cable, it's time to fire them all. It seems they've forgotten their job description.

Thank You BUT it is the republicans that held this up in particular our wonderful president. The republicans stalled this as far as they could and then did not fix it - only postponed the fix so our wonderful president wouldn't VETO it.

Note to "For Real" above: Bush has messed up a ton, without argument, as did the former GOP congress.... but you are wrong on this one. Dem congress has dropped this particular ball on their own. The media has it right. The Dem congress waited until the final WEEK of session to bring it to debate, then tried to pork barrel a bunch of other crap in without negotiating it across the aisle. Total lack of planning and finesse.

If you try to pin EVERYTHING on Bush, then nobody in the Dem congress will ever be held accountable even for the screw-ups they own. That's Nancy Pelosi's problem... she has been leader for 1 year yet still spends her time complaining about how the GOP congress left her high and dry... I could do that, for god sake.. can she try to FIX IT? or is she too much of a poseur and amateur to know where to begin. Pelosi is an amateur nightmare. She has to go.
