Who cares if the area is rich, black, white, or poor? The fact of the matter is that the government is acting more and more like the Brownshirts all the time. Did anyone notice that there doesn't have to be a reason for the militarized police to take over and declare martial law? All that has to happen is for there to be a rumor that someone saw a screwdriver in the back of a truck in the parking lot that someone mistakenly thinks might be a gun. You people are like trained monkeys. This is nothing more than social conditioning by the government to get us more and more used to these unconstitutional declarations of small scale martial law! Doesn't the fact that the militarized police can take over an area almost instantly, on a whim, concern anyone!!? The fact that this happened in Woodbury should cause us to fear even more. If this can happen in Woodbury, land of wealthy and powerful people, then it can most certainly happen in a poor neighborhood full of Joe Punchclock blue-collar workers who have no political power at all.

Its hard at time for me to believe how our culture has been turned inside out since the 1960s. We have so much institutional racism that people feel defensive if someone accuses them of having too many white people in their neighborhood. Should each block recruit blacks so that they can trot them out to the curb anytime someone accuses them of living in a too-white area?

PT, I agree with you, but you might have missed my point. My point was that we are arguing over the wrong issue - race of a neighborhood. As American citizens we should be free from the intrusive powers of government - no matter if we are in a black or white neighborhood. Personally, I find it disconcerting that the police are taking over schools and we have more and more mini declarations of martial law all the time. The only reason I mentioned class was to point out that if this can happen in Woodbury, a city known for wealthy and powerful people, then it can most certainly happen in a blue-collar area full of people with no political pull at all. No place seems safe from the ever-growing reach of the militarized police.

I would bet that the 'Diverse Group of People' are not welcome behind closed doors.

Yes, they are all SNOBS and the old Hags out there have Plastic Surgery parties, to HeII with the tupperware parties.

I agree, but apparently nobody else here cares what the lockdown was actually for as long as it gives them an opportunity to scream racial insults at each other. God bless Topix.

How true a statement that is! Population control is achieved by raising taxes.
I think 99.9% of the people in Woodbury would call the Cops if a Black Family was looking at a house for sale next to them, but they are the 1st people to call the AZ bill Racist.
once again this person is a product of left wing hate.which comes out of the liberal colleges I know there has been and continues to be subsidized housing, low cost h ousing being built in all sub burbs..The nasty name calling left simply hates peroid.whiners really, and lots of them are using race to get money for their la di da organizations...I usually do n ot pay attention to this cult url ism, anymore, makes me sick..

That's the fake twin cities liberal for you. Calling others intolerant and mean when a less affluent neighborhood objects to a proposed drug rehab shelter or low income housing project but if Woodbury is mentioned as a possible location, you would think the world was ending.

BTW I was being sarcastic. I live & work in Woodbury, which does have a diverse group of people, but the control the city council puts over the town you'd think that I was being serious.
I've never seen a bigger group of yuppies than here. None of the "snobs" go outside of their big houses, there is no sense of communitiy, and overall it's pretty much a joke.
There is no sense of community in most of the Twin Cities. If there was there would be more public resistance to our liberal institutions turning every metro neighborhood into declining dumps of affordable housing and group homes. Can't blame Woodbury for wanting to 'circle the wagons' against liberal progress.

Yeah and during the garage sales last weekend, someone even left a PLAIN water bottle in the garbage.... How dare they bring plain water into our city?!?!?! Seriously, does anyone have anything better to do that argue about a city that quite clearly you don't like??? Stay out and forget about it if it's that snobbish, horrible, right-winged etc. Sounds like the enemies of Woodbury have it perfect where they live so focus on your city and find something constructive to do with your time.

The more I've read on here, the more I've become convinced that the politics of class warfare are absolutely working the way our Administration intends them to do. There seems to be a need to spew hate demonstrated by the asinine and ignorant comments regarding Woodbury. Why? We're all part of the Twin Cities - why the need to hate and accuse people you don't know of racism? Where is this coming from? Is it the fact that you believe that anyone who lives in Woodbury is wealthy? If that is the case, you would be very wrong. And, even if all the Woodbury-ites were wealthy, what business of it is your's? Are you going to follow after the government and PBHO and start trying to tell people how much they are allowed to make a year - just because you yourself haven't achieved that subjective perceived level? What happens when the gov't starts coming to you and tells YOU that it is going to take 55% of YOUR income - money YOU WORKED for? Are you going to willingly give up your hard earned money? Or will you fight for it?

These Progressives fail to realize that they are being manipulated into taking the roles of the angry mobs during the Cultural Revolution when the landholders were stripped of their property and anything else of value.
