It is not surprising as I've grown up in this area and even after moving to a move-up home in another borough the "attitude" was and still is "how can you afford that?" "What do you do anyway that you can afford this?" Well, my usual answer is that I work like anyone else. I also know that if I were white I would not be asked such ridiculous impertinent questions. Once my neighbors saw that I have the same values as they do, and the same desires in lifestyles, culture, etc...there wasn't a color issue.

What is good is that most residents don't feel that way, and that the racist neanderthals that voice their opinion pretty much are in a minority. Racists can always move out west I suppose...but they would find that they are a minority out there as well! The world is getting smaller and smaller, and people are becoming more concerned with similar values than color of skin. Gosh, grow up people.
