The mayor's comments are fine--but that kind of positive sentiment has been heard before despite the fact that not everyone has been working proactively behind the scenes. Here's hoping that city leaders--including the mayor, the city administrator, city council president, as well as the head of the economic development committee--are working from the same script and can offer and keep on the table a viable package to keep Mr. Taylor at the table. Area neighbors have legitimate concerns about traffic, but there is no perfect solution for that property. Any new development there will certainly increase local traffic. The options that Mr. Taylor is presenting to the city are a much better solution than a non-profit turning the site into a facility. Again, Woodbury needs to start being receptive to ideas that hold economic promise for the future of our city.
