Restart talks on city upgrade
An old adage says that to make an omelet you've got to break some eggs. News that Tricon Development Group intends to scale back a Woodbury redevelopment project not only bears out the truth of that saying but, to a certain extent, leaves all parties with egg on their faces.

It would be insane for this deal to pass us--Woodbury--by and be handed out to another community. Our Broad Street has been going steadily downhill for a decade now. There aren't entrepreneurs and developers waiting to swoop in and save us. If there were, we wouldn't be continuing to have this conversation about why Broad Street looks the way it does. I know that members of this present team haven't exactly ingratiated themselves with the city, but it shouldn't be about hurt feelings, egos, politics, or control; it should be about potential markets, the betterment of our city, and, finally, bringing our main street back to its former glory. All of these things can and should happen.
