Since there was state money involved, why didn't the state ban the Lenocis and United Properties from doing work in Connecticut? They are crooks, and got off with a slap on the wrist.

Guys in my high school used to ask for punitive damages, attorney's fees and court costs all the time. It's not a big deal.

Why is the City of Bpt paying for Ganims legal fees?!?!? I don't get it. We can pay his lawyer but can't pay for better schools?!?!? Only in America.

Poor Ganims

Joey Ganim is claiming poverty-saying he mortgaged his property to his parents.Yet-if memory serves me- when "big daddy Ganim" was approached by authorities on the 2 million for the legal defense-old man Ganim claimed it was a "gift" so he wouldn't have to pay tax on it.Something stinks here and it aint the harbor.....

If you vote for a crook (collectively, not you), you pay for it. The legal fees are minimal compared with the loss of this development- and the deeper stain on a city that didn't need it. People with money aren't running here to bid around and get involved with this crowd. There are better places to invest your money than Bridgeport, which still stinks from Ganim's pay to play. I guess this is because the civil suit is related to his employment by the city. The city may have that obligation. But Ganim clearly went beyond the scope of his mayoral authority in committing his many felonies.

I don't know how he could have gotten around the gift tax- otherwise, people would be giving their money to their children to dodge estate taxes with frequency. Guys in my high school used to have their 7-figure legal bills covered by their dads all the time, it was no big deal.

Also, people still accrue child support obligations while in jail, so I hope the judge bankrupts the guy.
Forty cents an hour is what Joe is earning in jail? He has to work twenty hours pressing license plates to earn a pack of cigarettes. I'm sure Daddy is keeping his canteen account full so that he can buy protection.

RAT

It amazes me, that big rat Paul Pinto got away with out paying a dime! Again, he made a deal so he would not be named in this law suit. He is the RAT of all rats!!!! He still has his many millions. But I can walk down any street with my head held high. Mr. Chief Rat, you cannot do that! You do not have a single friend left. Why you continue to live here is beyond me. Wouldn't it be easier for you and your family to move to another state? How can you hide your faces or run from people you are afraid to face all the time? I feel sorry for your children and what they will suffer as they get older. It will be horrible to have people laugh and talk about you in school and not have any friends. Was it worth all the millions????
