Southbury restaurant owner pleads guilty to hiring illegal workers

The owner of a popular chain of Mexican restaurants is facing prison time and a hefty financial penalty after pleading guilty in federal court Tuesday to unlawful employment of aliens.

If this was true justice, he would have to serve the maximum of five years. Hopefully he will default on his $150k payments to the government and his assets will be seized.

Does anyone realize the good that Andrew does for the community? The thousands of dollars in charity donations? The golf outing? Fodd handouts? Does this not count for something. Maybe everyone is ready to throw him under the bus, but he is a wonderful person who treats all people with dignity and respect. Get to know the man before you toss cheap shots his way and you will agree. I promise you he has done more good than those sitting here on the internet lobbing venom his way. FOR SHAME!!

We need to stop the influx of Hispanics into the Danbury area immediately. We're almost at the proverbial "tipping point" where the percentage of non-whites will be high enough to make the city unihabitable for humans. Granted, the Hispanic tipping point is a lot higher than the Blacks'. Instead of the 15-40% tipping point for Blacks (often as low as 15% for schools), the Hispanic tipping point is around 60%. Over 60%, and the city has “gone Hispanic.”

And then the city is not the same. The process is much slower and not nearly as marked as what happens when a city turns Black, but you would have to be an idiot to say that what took place was not a general decline. Even at 60%, the place is surely much more livable than a 60% Black city, but it’s just not that nice White town anymore. There’s gangs and graffiti, and the schools are bad. Things start to look dilapidated. Homes start to look run-down and so do cars.

There is trash everywhere – Hispanics are notorious litterbugs. There is an increase in crime, most noticeably theft, often petty theft or minor theft. There are a lot more drugs around. There aren’t that many ra'pes, and women are fairly safe, but there is an increase in s'ex crimes. There is a lot more drunken driving, and drunken Hispanics start crashing into your cars.

Is this what we really want to happen to Danbury?

Andy is a fantastic guy who HAS given much back to our community. As a result of this witch hunt, he is closing two of his remaining four restaurants (including Monroe which is closing this month) in order to pay his hefty fine and attorney costs. Illegal aliens are a part of our life, and this problem STARTS with our government allowing them to easily cross our borders and then get free college educations, free medical care, food stamps, etc. Our government ENCOURAGES their arrival with many perks and rewards that we, as tax-paying Americans will never reap, and then turns around and punishes the people who hire them. Andy hired these guys because he could. Because they are extremely hard-workers with an amazing work ethic who are willing to do dirty jobs that Americans snub. Now, with two restaurants closing, I guarantee you that they are working for another restaurant or farm, or car wash right down the street. Andy was made an example of, paid the price, and I personally will be very sorry to see his great restaurants close as a result of this.
