I live in Woodbridge

*Kid was drunk and mommy knew he was drinking at her house all night with friends.

*Kid took a friends car without asking (and according to a report this car may have been stolen prior to the kid stealing it).

*Mom kept making excuses about why she could not keep control of her son through I highly doubt taking his cell phone is effective and changing how he dresses. She still allowed him to party and drink all night as a MINOR at her house. She would be liable for all minors who were drinking there as well.

Where is her responsibility as a parent?

When my son was involved in a school altercation the first question I had to the teacher was what was my son's involvement so I could treat it accordingly. If he had fault in it then he needed to be dealt with as well as the boy who punched him in the face. There was a teacher witness and luckily (for my son) he was 100% innocent. The kid who punched is a problem child being dealt with. The boy who punched wanted to move up in line out of his place and just made my son move when my son verbally said he was following what he was told to do and was staying. The teacher was happy to find a parent finally who wanted to know if her child was part of a problem and who visibly works to keep a child in line without being overly harsh. Most parents would never think of their child being able to misbehave of being part of the cause of an issue. Kids are rarely held accountable by parents and parents are rarely accepting of their accountability as parents.

Also the child was in the country ILLEGALLY and had skipped a court date in Miami regarding his illegality. Has anyone considered the child may have been worried he would be deported and decided to run? Now a teen is not the best judgement anyhow and a drunk teen is a total moron.

I feel badly for the mother but parents need to parent and make needed changes to keep their kids safe. This does NOT mean we allow them to drink in our homes with the lame excuse they'd just do it somewhere else. This does not mean we pull our kids from government agencies trying to help them because we think another child may have fought with our child (boy was in an alertnative school I am familair with due to my neighbor's child of parent who are not parenting).

Why is no one looking to how WE are raising our kids as parents and holding us accountable for what we allow them to do or not?

I was raised to be accountable for my successes and failings. I am learning disabled and never let that stop me. I just learned to adjust. Yet I know people with similar issues to mine using it as an excuse to collect financial aid as opposed to working.

I am raising my kids to learn accountability. Pathetically I am one of two in a group of parents with this ethics. Most are allowing the inamtes to run the assylum or are so caught up in their own need for gratification the kids are left to their own devices as Mom dates, parties, etc.

Why is no one bringing up parental responsibility and how we need to take that next step to protect and not enable our kids?

I worked with and am related to "problem" kids. All had something in common: parents who allowed the situation to start.

I feel horrbly for the mother but she has to take some accountability as the mother of a minor child.

Let's see if I got this right...
Kid was here illegally,
Ignored a deportation hearing,
Got kicked out of school (which does NOT happen for tardiness only,
Had a previous conviction for possession of a stolen vehicle,
Got drunk, drove w/o a license doing 90 in a 55,
contemplated running from the trooper...
Where's the loss?

Dude, u r dumb...

Homemom cares and you don't as evidenced by your lack of care in even trying to spell correctly. If you have something intelligent to say - say it intelligently and MAYBE you might get your point across - but if you sound like a dumbass everyone will think you are a dumbass. So why bother taking the time to express your opinion. Come up to speed brother or go back to sleep.

In all do respect, You all are all idiots I mean look at you comeing up with thoughts and opinions not knowing one thing that went on in that kids life. Going to school is a big part of a parents life in regard of there child. I've seen manys kids not listen to there mothers and if this lady was changing the way that the kid dressed, then im sry she had complete control of this kid. Lots of people fuck up but thats life. Thats his mothers fault that he did not show up at that court hearing, and who is to say that she was going to stop him drinking have you ever took in to consideration that she was just trying to make a safer environment for her kid to drink letting him drink at home. Lots of people let there kids drink. Don't get me wrong if you know your kid has a problem and your letting him drink at your house than you should watch him a little closer, and him jumping off of a bridge with cuffs on because he didnt want to get deported well sry for your loss but the gig was up when it was up.

Oh wow I hate how kids these days try to escape things they got themselves into by killing themselves. How sad :(

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Aries

In recent weeks you've been quite concerned about a loved one, and things are likely to come to a head as Mercury turns in your mid-heaven. You may be able to solve the problem simply, which will be a relief all round, but there's a chance that you may have to do some serious thinking or get some expert advice before you know exactly what your next step should be. You may have to take official action of some kind.
