Well, as of an hour ago, unless the dear ladies of the garden club are trying to grow tobacco from cigarette butts, absolutely nothing has been done to the butt ugly eyesore that is the medians on Colerain at St. Marys Rd.

Wildflowers would have been in full bloom by now.

I'd think twice before I desecrated Jimmy Hoffa's resting place.

If Public Works had just planted grass in the medians, they would look fine. Instead, they listened to Moreno and planted wild flowers last year. The medians looked scraggly all year and then what wild flowers were there died off. Now they do look butt ugly. Hopefully, Public Works wont make the same mistake and listen to Moreno again.

No, you lying shit. I have never had a damned thing to do with it.

This would have been at least the THIRD year of the "Wildflower Project."

If I HAD been involved, it would have been highly successful.

You'd screw up a two-car funeral procession. Hell, you couldn't handle a job at Burger King. Now you're a "forensic botanist"?
Growing weeds in a vacant lot ain't exactly rocket science, noodle-head. But you go ahead and brag, and fantasize about all the great things you could do, if only you didn't keep screwing it up. Fumduk.

Sorry Anon, but you are wrong. The wild flowers died because friendly drivers used the waiting time for green light to empty their car ash tray on the medians! Now one of these friendly peoples drove over the median and damaged the sprinklers!

I'm not a smoker and I'm not defending the litterers, but there is nothing in the contents of an ash tray that will kill plants. Actually, ashes act as a fertilizer and nicotine is a good insecticide. The wild flowers died a natural death at the end of the season and did not reseed because of a lack of care and water.

Jay's yard looks like a testing ground for a weed company, and his "wild flower garden" has to be seen to really understand what a joke that is.
Seems like anything he touches or gets involved in always ends up failing.

Exactly right.

If they wanted the "experiment" to be self sustaining, they should have chosen all perennials rather than a mix of perennials and annuals.

All you have to do is go to American Meadows and click on perennials for the southeast.

Fear not, the ladies of the garden club are on the case.

No, this year's first planting contained some especially tall varieties. The germination rate had to be way over 90%. It ewas, of course. a great success.

They are past peak bloom and some are starting to go to seed. They will re-seed when mowed and rolled-in in the fall.

However, you will be pleased to know that the summer planting will take place this week so that blooms will be there for you to enjoy on through the fall.

You're welcome, a-hole.

Julian is going to Savannah for two days this weekend to manage the Estate Auction and make sure he doesn't get screwed.

I probably shouldn't have used that term. I bet Jay would like to get screwed.

I probably shouldn't have used that term, either.

Nice try to incite others to vandalism, but all to no avail. The guy will simply lock the empty house up on Sunday afternoon and mail me a check. I'll be right here.

I've got to hand it to the garden club ladies. That is without question the most low-maintenance planting I've ever seen in those medians.

It's just lovely.

I'm sure local Realtors just love it.

Your idea of planting wild flowers in the medians was a big bust. The garden club ladies couldn't do much worse.

It was not my idea, A-hole. Had it been and had I supervised it, it would have been a smashing success.

Right up there with all of your other ideas and suggestions that were smashing successes. Such as...

Well, let's see...

Burger King. Okay, that one was a bust.

How about local politics? Nah, not your best moment, that one.

A job in the education system? Nope, that one didn't quite pan out either.

Restaurant critic? Well, you did okay, but most of the eateries you favored have long since gone the way of the "Going Out of Business Sale". Not exactly a "smashing success", unless you count smashing a local business as your idea of personal success.

Mature debate on a local blog? Nope, definitely not your strong suit.

Hmmm, there must be something you do well. There simply must be some foundation for your assertion that, if you did it, it would be a "smashing success".

Ahhh....I remember now.

You smashed bananas into your deceased father's face. You told us all about it, right here on Topix.

How wrong of me to question you.

I must have been bananas to think so.
