You got to believe more of this will go on as more and more crazies think it's essential to carry a weapon 24/7. I really, really like the last sentence in the article.

"If there is appealing food on a table ready to eat one is likely to eat it. If there is a lot of food, water, or drinks, humans tend to eat and/or drink more. It should be a no brainer that if there are more guns on people’s body, they will use any possible excuse to use it.

In Orange City, Florida Mr. Jose Martinez was arrested for shooting five times in the Wal-Mart parking lot off of Veterans Memorial Parkway. He told the cops that he was defending himself from a shoplifter who ran over and injured him.

“The guy put me in danger and other people,” said Martinez as police hauled him off to jail Wednesday evening.“He tried to run me over.”

But police said Martinez only was bumped by the shoplifter’s getaway car because he was chasing after the car and even tried to open the door to the moving vehicle before he opened fire.

Eddie McKee, 42, was caught shoplifting groceries at the Walmart and took off when security confronted him, knocking down a woman, according to police.

Several other people chased after the alleged shoplifter, Eddie McKee, and another man was armed but he never drew his gun. McKee was arrested in DeLand shortly after.

Police said McKee then jumped in his car and took off, but bumped into another car in the parking lot, that’s when police say bullets started flying.

This is the world according to the NRA, a good guy with a gun. The problem is that the good guy with the gun could be a stupid guy. There are lot of immature, well-meaning people that lack any type of inhibition that armed will put average American citizens at risk. It is not a secret that if there is a gun in the home, it is usually used against a loved one. It is not a secret that the presence of a gun when depressed or in mental distress suicide becomes that much easier.

In the NRA world where society is fully armed, it won’t be long before this incident is normal. When Americans fear leaving their homes to go shopping at Wal-Mart or anywhere else, because of their fear of “the good guy with the gun,” maybe the time when businesses and politicians join the average citizens to bring down the NRA and pass sensible gun controls."

Hopefully he will get a chance to reconsider the wisdom of his actions from a jail cell and never again be allowed to possess a concealed carry permit. The whole NRA principle that obtaining a carry permit automatically makes one a "good guy" is ridiculous.

But not nearly so ridiculous as your Commie-Lib assertion that all who carry are immature and dangerous.

I said, crazies. If you want to add immature and dangerous to that characterization, fine, I'll go with that too.

And when did not liking guns become "Commie-Lib" assertions? I missed that memo, but I'll ask my uncle who was wounded twice in combat (Vietnam), who also does not like guns. How much combat experience (or even military service) you got?

First, thanks to you and your uncle for your service to our country, if you in fact you did serve. I spent over 20 years on active duty.

Wasn't any memo, just common sense. If I, a conservative, don't like something, I don't buy it, use it, will have nothing to do with it, but at the same time I will not try to stop you or anyone else from buying it, using it, or having it. Commie-libs are just the opposite. If they don't like something they not only won't have it but they will do everything they can to keep anyone else from having it. A good example is Mayor Bloomberg in NYC. He doesn't like lots of things, including guns, and he is trying to ban or regulate every thing from guns, to soft drinks, potato chips, food in school cafeterias, mandatory exercises for children out of school, etc, etc etc.

What government regulates, government controls, and when the level of regulations reach a certain point we are no longer a free society!

So why are conservatives trying to stop gay marriage, abortions, immigration, unions etc.?

"So why are conservatives trying to stop gay marriage, abortions, immigration, unions etc."?

1. Gay marriage is a crime against nature. 2. Abortions are murder. 3. Immigration is fine. We are all descendents of immigrates. Illegal immigration is, well, ILLEGAL. 4. Unions are a way that a chosen few collect dues, live extravagantly off the money earned by the workers, inflate wages, increase costs and product prices and eventually put the company out of business, ala; General Motors and on a local level, Gilman Paper company.

Any other questions, lamp shade?

Well said and excellent point. On the bright side, conservatives (i.e., Republicans and Teapublicans) are the minority and ever shrinking political party in our country. And fortunately, the Democratic Party will be selecting the next few Supreme Court Judges which will either finish them off or force them to change with the times. Noting the comments below, they've got a lot to change.

Well, if he was a Marine and wounded in I Corps, RVN, in 68 or 69, I might have been the Navy Corpsman who patched him up.

Let's try it again, because its obvious you didn't read the proceeding post. If "A" says: "If I, a conservative, don't like something, I don't buy it, use it, will have nothing to do with it..."
Then I responded ...
Then you (Staff)...totally went against the original poster by "having something to do with it".
So I guess my question is ... nevermind Knuckle Down is playing.

"It should be a no brainer that if there are more guns on people’s body, they will use any possible excuse to use it."

The last sentence in the authors first paragraph... he didn't sat 'crazies', he was refering to everybody that carries. That is stupid.

"This is the world according to the NRA, a good guy with a gun. The problem is that the good guy with the gun could be a stupid guy."

No... that's not the world according to the NRA. A stupid guy with a gun is a STUPID guy with a gun.

Anon said "The whole NRA principle that obtaining a carry permit automatically makes one a "good guy" is ridiculous."

Your right, but most of 'em are pretty good folks. They've subjected themselves to a higher scrunity with a more enhanced background check system through the courts. There are enough 'bad cops' that really mess up, but does that sour your view on the majority of our peace officers? They carry guns as well...

Vice Perz Joe advised on Monday that shooting through your door was a good idea to 'scare off'a bad guy/home invader.... that advice didn't work out for this homeowner: http://www.wavy.com/dpp/news/crime/man-charge...

NFL, you said "And fortunately, the Democratic Party will be selecting the next few Supreme Court Judges which will either finish them off or force them to change with the times."

Finish off who? Conservatives? I'm pretty 'conservative' on many issues....and pretty liberal on others. What I don't need or require is you, any other individual, or group, and most certinally the goverment, telling me what guns, magizines, and bullets I should and should'nt have.'Liberials' telling me, as a gun owner, how 'bad' a person I am...that's stupid. Why does everybody want another assult-weapons ban? That won't stop these mass-shootings.... everybody KNOWS this. It's not crime control, it's about people control. If it's about 'feeling' safer, that's a farce. Safety is relitive to the enviroment around you, not an emotion. I, and my family, are safer when I'm carrying my sidearm.
