As I was leaving the Coastal Bank this morning, I was surprised to see the fleet still sitting there behind the CCSO annex. IN particular, the 20 some-odd foot "Contender" with two, 250 horsepower outboards, radar, the whole nine yards.

There are three or four more slightly smaller but fully outfitted boats back there as well.

I though Sheriff Gregory sold those.

Que pasa, Jim?

You are such a dumb ass. That equipment is used by Camden County Search and Rescue as well as other agencies with which the CCSO has a working relationship. Their divers have gone as far as Savannah to assist with search and rescue. Unfortunately it was not your bloated hulk they were trying to locate. Also, do you think for one second that Sheriff Proctor is going to get on here and answer your inane question?

Smith and the USS bin Laden. I believe that took third place behind sending a cool quarter million to the Citadel and the attempted building of the Cumberland Island get away.

So, you need a 500 HP boat to do search and rescue?

Do they trailer that boat to Savannah, or can they make better time running up the ICW wide open?

No, Bill Smith wanted that $160,000 fast, sport fisherman so he could look cool for his pretty young girlfriend.

Bill took such good care of taxpayer's money.

So glad he's gone.

All that aside, I remember when Tommy said that he was going to sell the boats if he got elected when he ran his original campaign.

That boat, the USS bin Laden terrorist catcher Contender is a first class off shore fishing platform. A pure tournament vessel. I bet the training trips are a blast.

Leave the discussion of boats to the experts rollerboy.

Yes,God knows it takes a expert to recognize what a friggin waste of money those were - and are. For a $1.00 consulting fee, I'll advise the sheriff to sell all but the two smallest ones.

Once again, you have demonstrated your extreme level of arrogance and situational ignorance. Every time I think I've seen the lower limit of your obnoxious arrogance, you manage to lower the bar yet again.

As it turns out, I happen to know exactly what Sheriff Proctors' plans are for the CCSO fleet. Apparently, you are not in the loop. Nor do you need to be. Fact is, the farther away you can be kept from any governmental decision, the better off every resident of this county is.

S&R will maintain a number of boats to support diver operations and marine Search, Rescue, and Recovery capabilities in the creeks, rivers, the ICW, Cumberland Sound, and connecting waters. In that CCSO shares concurrent jurisdiction with the NPS on Cumberland Island, the need exists to be able to respond to the island in any condition of sea or weather.

CCSO S&R is also called on to assist other agencies with search, rescue, and recovery operations. Most recently, the investigation into the death of Glynn County Commissioner Tom Sublett, and the location of the submerged truck, and young man, who went missing in Savannah a few years back. Just to name a couple you should remember.

CCSO is one of the few area agencies with an accomplished black water dive team, and side-scan SONAR. But then, I'm sure you're an expert in such matters, and already knew that.

There is a plan for the Contender. If you needed to know what it was, you would have been briefed.

Once again, you have stuck your ignorant, arrogant nose where it didn't belong. There's a reason why you never ascended to an elected office in this county, nor indeed to any position involving public trust or one requiring any semblance of maturity and wisdom. That reason is you, and what you are. Fortunately for the rest of us, you are the only one who has to live with it, 24/7.

You're an ass, and you look, act and smell like one.

The shoe fits.

May I suggest that you make an appointment to talk with Sheriff Proctor on this issue. Ask him tough questions about how dealers discount and give equipment. Ask what replacement cost would be to replace any of these items if they were sold. Ask about how side scan works and what benefit it has to the CCSO mission. Ask about how that radar helped the CoastGuard. Ask about how that big boat was given, yes given to the SO. I think that once you understand the bigger picture you will be a little more humble. Hey I got one for you, ask why boats have radios on them.

Bullshit.

The Contender has one of those "PURCHASED with confiscated drug funds at no cost to the taxpayers" decals on either side of it.

"Donated," my ass.

The Monarch came from the base.
Since you brought up confiscated drug money, there was many a vehicle and equipment purchased with it. What gets me is that you slam Proctor but not Gregory. He did not dispose of the boats. Wonder why.

I believe it was purchased with confiscated / drug funds. I'll find out.

What amuses me is how you chose to respond to that post, and completely ignored Captain Obvious in post #13, who tore you up like a cheap napkin. Looking back, I notice a pattern throughout numerous threads, in that you ignore posts, and posters, who very elegantly destroy your baseless ramblings with logic, facts, and intelligent reason.

That seems to be three skills you have yet to master.

I'm sure there's an online college course for that somewhere. You should sign up.

There can't be much self-satisfaction in being an internet punching bag.
