I would vote for it but if it only goes for paying the sewer bond and no pet projects of these jackasses we have in st.marys.
We know thats not going to happen so Iwill have to vote NO.Thats just another wallet they get to spend out of.

Instead of Splost why not use the profits of the Aquatic center for capitol improvement projects. Oh that's right Splost will now be used to keep the Aquatic center afloat along with keeping Orange Hall from falling apart. Don't forget the much needed tourist trolley and a list of other nonsense.

ONLY if 100% of the revenue goes to the sewage system bond.

I want the opportunity to hear the city council justify raising my taxes to pay for a tourist doodle bug instead of hiding behind a line item inserted in Splost.

The council/MAYOR are not and can not jusify their bull crap. That's why they will only have meetings with police in a room I've been to several other city council meetings in south ga.The only police that was in the room was the officer that was over that dept. sometimes a LT. sometimes a SGT.

I agree that the starting point should be 100% to water/sewer debt reduction.

I also agree that the DMA can stick that doodle bug where the sun don't shine.

However, anything in the way of capital expenditures that would without question absolutely, positively, beyond any shadow of a doubt have to be made during the run of the next SPLOST should be given serious consideration for inclusion in the list.

What sense would it make to blindly assign 100% of SPLOST revenues to water/sewer debt only to have to raise the millage rate to pay for unavoidable capital expenditures?

We don't need knee jerk, rabble rousing, ideologues at the helm. We need thinkers.

The starting point should be returning to a budget when the existing mill rate paid for all capitol improvements. The days before Aquatic centers, boat house properties and speculative water sewer plants. While were at it lets get rid of those useless departments like tourism.

It will not pass; too many pet projects and the people have grown tired of the city's crap...however, the voters keep voting in the dumb a$$ses.

I want 100% to got toward the debt; that is only way I will vote for it, but since it will not; NO VOTE in March.

The more tax revenue our corrupt and crooked governments get the more they will spend. They will spend our property tax money on all sort of bullshit projects. Vote no on all tax increases and vote against any incumbant. Stop voting against your own self interest.
Vote all crooks and corrupt politicians out of office.

A shining example of the kind of bombastic simpleton I was referring to.

It's CAPITAL improvements, by the way.

While I agree with most of what you said, I question any capital expenditure in these hard times. A capital expenditure is one used to acquire or upgrade assets. The boathouse is an example of a capital expenditure.

Our politicians are addicted to OPM. They love spending Other Peoples Money. Trips to Atlanta with unlimited expence accounts, steak and lobster dinners and $12 mixed drinks and $50.00 bottles of wine. No wonder we are in a finicial bind.

Investigate the bastards. St Marys is becoming more like Chicago every day.

No list. Every penny to be used for retiring the water/sewer loan. Emergency capital improvement projects paid out of general fund by eliminating non essential programs and reducing all departments. County and cities needs to be forced into consolidation.

Only 1 thing on that list for me to vote yes for it is water/sewer bond.

That "thing in the park" was a last ditch effort by Mayor Eskridge to buy the downtown vote.

Under the law, that $350,000 of unexpended SPLOST funds should have reverted back to the county.
