Judge Williams was just re-elected last Nov. to a new 4 year term, so she has 3 plus years remaining on the current one. The press did not report on the election or any of the judge's problems last year, so very few people really know what's been going on. And the Ira Glass radio program where some of the issues surfaced was well after the election.

My understanding is all of the other judges in the Brunswick circuit are up for re-election (also 4 year terms) in Nov. 2012. So far I have not heard of anyone running against judges Scarlett, Kelley, Wilkes or Harrison.

Let's hope she fights it so all the dirt comes out. In my opinion, it's not just JAW.

She is a great judge who does not tolerate BS. We need more like her across the State and maybe the crime rate would not be as bad. When one of these thugs rob your family member and or assaults one of your family members, you will be screaming that no one does their job. I say give the woman judge of the year. She runs the court room and this is all politically motivated because she pissed some lawyer off because she could not be persuaded. Good Luck judge. Some of us still care about justice.

However, you obviously don't give a shit about constitutionally guaranteed civil rights or the violation thereof.

Judge Williams I really hope you don't read this s**t but to the people that do, you are absolutely clueless. Judge Williams is a stern judge, no arguing this. However, she is fair, she only wants to make a difference. We need more men and women judges like her! Our nation as a whole is going to hell in a hand basket. When did we stop making people accountable for their crimes?! Judge Williams has a belief in people that they can change, but does sometimes means punishment to learn. She is not this mean, evil person that people against her are saying. She is someone who cares, she can be harsh, that is the nature of someone who cares and wants to nurture those they care about.

"she can be harsh, that is the nature of someone who cares" This does not even make sense! It is contradictory. I suspect that you have the same kinds of problems that she does. God help you both.

Yes, Jan, people can and do change, but a person's character does not.

You sound like a nurturing caring person as well. Such folks as you and Judge Williams will do well in the private sector "helping" drug addicts and such. We simply don't believe these kinds of swaggering, self-agrandizing Samaritans have a place on the public dole.

Your whole statement is a contridiction in terms. You start by saying how wonderful & fair JAWS is and then you turn right around and want to know when we stopped holding people accountable for their actions. Well wake up buttercup because this is Judge Amanda Williams being held accountable for numberous actions of abuse of power which will no doubt cost several counties a bundle of money in civil suits.

Amanda Williams gave we a chance when she didn't have to. She can be intimidating, but what judge can't? If you break the law there are consequences. Amanda is a fair judge across the board. If she gives you a break, make sure you don't mess up again and come back in front of her.
