All of the sailboats that anchor in the river don't use as much water as the average household of four.

I only had 2 living in my house in the city my neighbor had 4 but traveled alot as I do and we both had around the same bill. Even the time we left for 2 months my water bill was like 2 bucks cheaper.
them 2 months my trash was not even put out but I had to pay for trash pick-up what do the sailboaters pay for their thrash pickup?
The only thing I'm asking them to do is pay their own way, obey the law and for the city to stop acting like they bring in all this money. In the last 2 months I could of spent 2-3 grand in fuel at langs but I would rather spend it in Jax. twice and Golden Isles twice running boats. I did that for the simple reason I Know how downtown treats the taxpayers.

nobs thas a fair answer but lets say a family of one has to pay the base rate atleast why not ask all the sailboats to do the same.
before you say because they dont have sewage neither does GAIN DAVIS SUB.
the people out in gains davis has to pay land tax to city and county water, garbage. what tax or service fees do the sailboaters pay?

Transient boaters is not a problem at all. Steel Away is something different altogether. Wait until the HOUSEBOATERS hear about our special harbor.

Well, the city allows the boaters to use water for free as far as I know. It's such a small amount used, I don't see that it amounts to much at all monetarily.

Camden county does tax every boat assessed at $5000 and over, every boat has to be registered obviously, so that's an additional tax. And any time the boaters buy anything, whether it be fuel, groceries, anything of the sort they pay sales tax.

I agree with the first part, disagree with the second. How is Steel Away so different?

As to the third part, I wouldn't lump all houseboaters together. Sure, you have some derelicts floating around but you have even more that, well, aren't.
