The problem is not the steelaway, the problem is with council.
Council is responsible for protecting city assets from freeloaders.
I agree about the City council. Always playing favorites with the elitists. My qustion for Buckwheat claim about the steelaway paying for services. I have a meter, I receive a bill, I get my additional Trader charge. So how is the steelaway being charged or is it just more council bullshit.

Please let me apologize. Where exactly is the water meter?
the water meter is behind the old bait shop(Joe T's) rite where the concrete meets the pier to the D&R dock down to the right.

The floating dock permit allows fueling? I think not.

There is a meter at the the biging of the walkway to the public dock, but i doubt anyone reads it. I live on a sailboat and I am at anchor and this is a great place. I have only met one person here that I would consider to be the south end of a northbound mule, but hat was my problem and I dealt with it in my own way. I get along with everyone in the harbor and do purchase fuel and groceries in town. I probaly pay more in taxes each year then 50 people here pay together, so what if they do not go into the coffers of Georgia, I still pay them.
I know both people on steelaway and they do pay their way whenever they can.
Most people will haul fuel to the boats in jugs to refuel.
I have seen boats go by me and leave a trmendous wake and my boat rocks for a bit, it is no big deal just part of living on a boat. I go kayaking and always pick up trash from the marsh areas, so do I need to pay to have it dumped in a garbage can or should I just let it continue to float out there?

Are they loading gas cans or emptying gas cans at the dock? There is a big difference.

There has not been a bait shop at the city park boat ramp for a long time.

I noticed that the city installed a pvc pipe on the fixed dock so that Steelaway doesn't have to run hose all that way. Your tax dollars at work.
