Is torture an accepted way to gain information from terrorists about future attacks?

It depends on the terrorist and the custodian. Some terrorist will be tortured and some will not be tortured. It all comes down to who is involved: the terrorist and interrogator.

I hope this was helpful and answered your question.

Torture is illegal by both American civilian and military personnel.

Now please stop torturing us with stupid posting.

My question was "is torture an acceptable method to gain information about future terrorist attacks regardless of who does the interrogating.

Thank you for your input

Well that certainly was a disappointing critque.
I thought sure you would respond with the laughable response " torture would bring us down to their level" or "that makes us no better than the terrorists". I Always get a chuckle out of those responses.
Those are always the responses of those sitting in their nice comfy houses whose childen are safe palying in the back yard. I am sure those would be your responses... LOL LOL
I'm sure those who have a child or grandchild in danger from terrorists wouldn't be quite so forgiving.
If my kids or grandkids were in grave danger and some captive terrorists knew the details of the action and I could prevent the slaughter I would give loud approval for severe torture of the suspect or domit myself.
You liberals really amuse me.... thanks

bubba must be a republican. he asks a question but doesn't like the answers so he goes off the deep end with babble. yesterday's "republican party in decline" comment is appropriate here as well. losers all.

No Bubba is NOT a republican as stated several times before.
Why must you always bring politics into everything.
The question is simple...Is torture sometimes justifiable..?
Try to pay attention... I know its difficult for you but try!
Your difficulty in understanding is always amusing.

We do not torture American citizens. I don't like it but the little bastard bomber is an American citizen. He has rights under our constitution, like it or not. He should be charged with treason and hanged.

According to Bubba, if your children are in danger then torture is acceptable.

How many children have been killed by US bombings, sanctions, drones, etc? That would equal quite a bit of tortured Americans.

So if your child was in a position to be killed or maimed you would be satisfied in doing nothing..

Bubba, there is a long way between doing nothing and torture. Your question supposes a lot of things but your additions of family etc. make your need for torture unnecessary ....if you know the terrorist and the intended target......you stop it before it ever happens.

Like we stopped the horrible incident in Boston?
We all would like to prevent those things...
If you know the target may not be possible

Y'all stop trying to educate the fool. His worldview is shaped by Fox News and Fox TV shows like 24. Kind of like if Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck had a retarded love child. Wait, didn't they do that already?
