This is quite sad to hear. Buddy was an excellent musician and I feel fortunate to have worked on some of his recordings.

You are lucky Jory. I got to jam with him one time and I'll never forget it. He was unforgettably good. Friendly too.

I played with Buddy numerous times when he was with Nicole in Nevada City. Saw him go through a lot. We haven't talked in a long time, some stupid disagreement. He's been on my mind lately...

By the way, it was his 50th birthday.

Aw man, this is just shitty. He was the epitome of an old-school, hard-knock, maverick man... A damn fine musician and solid friend. He will be missed...

I first met Buddy while working with him at Smiley's in Bo. He mentioned being a musician, and one Friday and I and my boyfriend, who had known him for many years, went downtown to hear him play.

At the time, it was nearly impossible to believe I was cleaning hotel rooms alongside such a talented individual! When he got married and began producing and touring again, I was thrilled that he was getting back to his music.

This is a tragic and heartbreaking loss, indeed.

I feel blessed to have been Buddy's spiritual wife for a time..we shared alot of love and music. He liked my $300 white strat better than his $2000 white strat and he thought that was pretty funny. Time & distance have no power to diminish any authentic connection. To have been loved by him as I was is a gift and there is no point in expressing herein the effect this news has had on me. He is the only one who thought I had a good voice, so maybe now, in his honor, I'll record my new country song. May he now find the peace he was seeking.

Hadn't seen Buddy in years but heard his record....Mighty as usual. RIPMF

I just found out about this. Buddy was my best bud at Oceanside High in the 70's, He taught me how to play bass and guitar and how to be a musician, Our band, Dodge City Peace Commission, played the local high schools and such. We had to have our parents drive us as we didn't drive yet. Hadn't seen him since the mid 70's.
Buddy, May you rest in peace, I will never forget you.:-(

Sad. Stunned. His music filled the Napa Valley's most exclusive town at least twice a month in his final five years at our 1351 Lounge bar. Everyone with a brain knew we watched something incredible. It's beyond sad that the world shared less with him, apparently, than he was capable of sharing with us. I knew he was amazing then, and feel so sad now that he's no longer around to see (the reason I Goodled his name today to find a venue date). RIP Buddy, b
