what makes you think you can put down woodriver? yeah, we have trashy people that live here, but so does every other town. what about alton, east alton? they have just as much, if not more problems like this. ive lived here my life, it hasnt always been this way. you all are so insensitive about all of this, only talking crap on the town. the parents should have watched the little boy more carefully, but dont put them down, they lost their son over all of this. its terrible. he was such a little cutie, he didnt deserve to lose his life

yes, this is horrible, but to respond to "Informed Parent".... no offense, but whomever is watching my child, should be watching my child. in no way in hell is a 12 year old responsible for keeping an eye on 3 other kids with the youngest being 4. very tragic, but yeah, someone needs to take responsibility for that childs death, and its not the fault of the other 3 kids. i would never let my kids roam around with no adult supervision.
I agree those kids should not have been watching a four year old and if it was the grandmother she should have made sure that he didn't follow the others not that they should have been going either but still. And yes someone should be responsible a child is dead from complete carelessness.

Stand up and let your brains air out! NO WAY should CHILDREN be responsibel for other children in that age group! Are you kidding? Where were the grandparents? A four year old? Kids that age do NOT realize the danger and even if told by the grandparents to not let the little child go down there - the kids will be busy playing their own game and there won't be any time to watch the 4 year old! Besides, it was the grandparents who should have had their bony butts outside with that child OR the child should have been INSIDE with the adults! I would sure hate to leave my kids with YOU, informed, because their lives would be at risk with YOUR way of thinking! This is pathetic and irresponsible behavior by these grandparents. If my grandchild who happens to be 4 right now even goes outside in the back in a fenced area I go with her. Too many things happen and I'm not going to allow her to get hurt if my life depends on it! It is up to US to keep out children safe! NOT other children, dope!

I grew up in that area, and I assure you not all of us are "trash". It's common for children to wander and for older siblings to look after them, just as it's common for those older children to become devastated and traumatized for life when something this unfortunate happens. These are human beings people!Where is your empathy?

Nobodys better than nobody everywhere in this world has trashy people so you dont need to be pointing fingers either way a 12 year should not of been the "babysitter" to nobody Where the hell was the parents? the finger should be pointing at them I feel for their loss but how foolish I have 2 babyboys and there is no way in HELL that I would let any 12 year old watch them take care of your damn kids and love them.

I say we just let it be yeah a family lost a loved one and yes it was a baby, but the good LORD will deal with this... AND GOD SAYS "YE WITHOUT SIN THROW THE FIRST STONE" so with that said I think everybody needs to drop this and let the baby rest in peace. And I am sure whoever was suppose to be watching these kids feels really bad... Also, this could of happened with anyone of you talking CRAP about the family but how would you like it if this happened to you and everybody was on here BASHING you, like you are BASHING them.. So like I said above i would not throw stones if you sin or GOD will be dealing with you.. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS WITH THIS FAMILY AND WILL ALWAYS BE THROUGH ALL THIS....

And you know, it's idiots like YOU that poo-poo the seriousness of this type behavior which excuses it and trys to make it "OK"! Well, TOOTS, it isn't OK! This is negligence personified and should be punished as such. Sure, they lost their child - but WHY! If they had some one there interested in taking care of this 4 year old then he would still be with us! "Risky behavior' under any circumstances is NOT acceptable - and YOU, you blithering nut case, are trying to make it OK and sluff it off as an accident? No, this was not an accident, it was carelessness, stupidity, and probably souced from booze - that child should not have even been outside in this heat - that alone is abuse! What's wrong with you jerks? Are you ALL crazy?
These things happen, there is a likelyhood of negligence in any case...but first and foremost, humans are weak and fragile, and accidents are matter what.....there was a recent drowning in an Edwardsville lake, probably good people, is the grandma in that case , who just lost her grandson, and lost her own children's child guilty of murder too? You cannot control everything. I was looking this blog over, after spending the day with a good friend who lost his son in an accident.....15 years ago.....and his scars still bleed, never don't take this as an insult to your intelligence, I think all the Blogger you were responding to was trying to say is.....they lost their child.... How devistating....and it is hard to imagine how that would be.....
