8/20 - Man in Jail for Murder in Cheboygan County

Hide Video Police are investigating a murder in Wolverine. Officers say they found the body of a man inside the Cheboygan County home Monday afternoon.

This man was a dear friend of mine and a good person. Words are not strong enough to express the shame that man should feel for taking his life over something so stupid!

Jon Williams was a beautiful human being. It takes a very twisted individual to sneak into a man's home and club him to death in his sleep just because he didn't like him. I know for a fact that Jon Williams never did a thing to Thomas Waligora but fight him and his girlfriend Kelley Marie Moore to see his son Tyler. Kelley Moore was due to stand in court for a contempt charge for denying Jon access to his son, the court date was set for September 4th. I was going to testify at that hearing. Instead I will be at Tom's Preliminary Trial on September 3rd. Shouldn't Kelley Moore still be facing that contempt charge? It shouldn't just disappear because she got him killed, she is still guilty. It is not Jon's fault he was murdered by her boyfriend before her hearing arrived. Jon was a great guy~we all know that. He is very missed by many people each and every day. What Kelley conspiried for Tom to do to Jon is horrible and none involved should go without punishment! Kelley should be in prision on conspiracy to commit murder, and little Tyler should be go to Jon's family so they can protect him from her. Kelley should never be able to see the light of day again, as Jon is not able to because of her. Tyler should not be raised by a murderer for his life my be in jeapordy since he is Jon's son. Tom will NEVER enjoy another single day of life, I am positive. He is the one who literallt stole Jon's life from him and no matter how many years he may sit behind bars, he will never enjoy one free day again. I really wish Michigan had the death penalty and that in certain circumstances we could initiate eye for an eye~because I know a few people that would like to invite Tom into Jon's world. You are loved and missed Jon, we your friends and family, will never let you go and we will always be watching for signs from you. We will not let your memory die, we will stand up for what is right, and we will work our asses off to make sure your son is safe. I promise you.

I am the mother of Jon's three year old son he had joint custody of. I to testified on Jon's behalf and he used our cooperation as example for kelly and tom to see that it could be easier if they all worked together. Jon helped me out so much and his kids meant the world to him. He spent his last days fighting for Brooke and Tyler so Nick could see his brother and sister. Now Tom stole Nick's Daddy away from him and there is never going to be justice good enough. Rest in Peace Jon....Your army is finishing your battle for you. You are greatly loved and you will not be forgotten. I love you dear friend and your son misses you greatly.

Regardless if he had 50 children with 50 women nobody had the right to take his life. Whatever "facts" come out nothing will change that. Because of a man thinking he had the right to kill someone he will rot in prison as he should. In my opinion it is pretty cut and dry!!!

Ps. aren't you embarrassed to say you are a friend of a murderer? It frightens me that there are people like you on the streets, so cold with a disregard for human life. Regardless of "facts", nothing justifies premeditated murder! shame on you.

From my discussions with law enforcement and attorneys, it sounds like this guys most assuredly deserved his a** beat and that is what Thomas went there to do; not to kill him. He obviously took it way to far, Boondock Saints style. For all of you who claim Williams was a saint, you're crazy. Anyone that knows this guy knows he was a dangerous individual. He strangled his child to the point that his blood vessels popped in his eyes and that is why he received the beating he did. In my mind, anyone that does that to a child deserves a beating with a bat.

If that were the case why was he not jailed? I also find it hard to believe that law enforcement and attorneys would openly discuss criminal behavior with some random person. Give me a break! In the end all that matters is some loser who did not know self control took a life that he was not entitled to take, and for that reason he will rot in prison. So "if " Jon did what you say he did his murderer should have went about it the right way, but instead he chose to end two lives that day.

From what I have heard Boondock is right. For what it is worth, "Disgusted" should go rent the movie Boondock Saints. There are some people who strongly feel that certain crimes should be met with death, via capital punishment. I for one think this guy deserved every smack if he did strangle the child. However, it should have been done after he was convicted for first degree child abuse. I can't blame the accused though. If it was my step-child that was strangled I can't say that I wouldn't have beaten the person to death either. Unless one of us sits on the jury though, we are in no position to speculate, for only the jury will hear all of the evidence in the most impartial light.

I do not need to rent a movie, I know that it is wrong to take another persons life, a movie would not change that. I do not for one moment believe that child abuse is ok, but my point is that it was not up to this man to take matters into his own hands, no matter if a movie says it is ok or not. obviously if it is acceptable in "certain" circumstances then he won't go to prison. This man drove from Elk Rapids to Wolverine to "beat" Jon, he had a decent amount of time to think about what he was going to do he should have done the right thing for the child not for his own selfish gratification now the child doesn't have his father or step father.

To Disgusted: If it was your child that was strangled you wouldn't want to pay a visit to the coward that did it? I find that hard to believe. My only point in suggesting the movie is that it is a good movie and the directors do a good job of making the viewers really consider capital punishment. The fact that Michigan abolished capital punishment remains a mystery to many, including me.

I agree, he appears to have had a while to think about his actions. However, I think that there are a lot of people, presumably primarily males, who would have done the same if it were their child or step-child. The same in the sense that they would have wanted to teach this guy a lesson for abusing the child. My understanding of the situation is that once he started hitting him, all he could picture was the boys face and he couldn't stop.

Under Michigan law, he is guilty of First Degree Felony Murder. Michigan's First Degree Felony Statute states that any murder committed during the perpetration or attempt to perpetrate certain felonies is "First Degree Murder". One of those felonies is breaking and entering a dwelling. However, the prosecutor still has to prove malice (i.e., that he intended to kill, intended to do great bodily harm, or intentionally created a high risk that death or great bodily harm would occur with knowledge that death or great bodily harm was probably). If this is proven, and the murder was committed during the course of one of the enumerated felonies, it will be classified as first degree murder. In my opinion, unless the prosecutor gives him a plea deal or the jury disregards the law, he will be and should be convicted of first degree murder pursuant to the statute.

Bill, as a matter of fact my child was abused by his father. He was only 2 years old. He went on a visit with his father and came home with bruises all over his body. I took pictures and called protective services but, because I wasn't there and my son wasn't old enough to say who did it I was told that I had to let him go on the next visitation. I refused. I stood up for my child I did not murder his father. I risked going to jail but I hired a lawyer and fought for my son. He eventually got supervised visits, and he did come to a couple but by then he got tired of that and stopped coming all together. Again, the point is rather he "meant" to do it or not, he didn't have the right to take a life, it is scary that there are people that do not have self control. I love my son very much, but because I need to be there for him I think before I act. I wish he would've done the same.

Don't think that you are the voice of truth! While murder may not have not been the answer, the fact remains that SOMEONE knew what REAL justice is! The " authorities" were made well aware of what was going on, that I know for sure!
But of course, the way the corrupted system works, it only and always fails the innocent! And you say he "ruined" two lives?? Which two?? Maybe he's ok with taking matters into his own hands!! He had the courage to do what you should have done yourself! Don't think you're some kind of hero because you sat watching and did NOTHING!!

Believe me I didn't sit and do nothing! my child was never hurt again I know all about a system that is failing the children I feel my child had been failed at that time but it still does NOT give someone a right to take matters in to his own hands read your bible "Thou Shall Not Kill" ring a bell? and he is no hero for killing that childs father! the lives he ruined were his own and the deceased I am quite sure that if the childs mother really wanted to she could've prevented this whole thing by standing up for her child I made a whole lot of noise for mine I was told that if I didn't let my son go with his abuser that I would be put in jail but I stood my ground it can be done you just have to be firm! but regardless I would be willing to bet if the murderer was the man you are portraying him to be that he wishes he would have done things differently because now the child doesn't even have him. This whole thing is sad! Jon did come from a very nice family.

You're preaching to the choir! And yes, my bible does have the same commandment! I am not condoning murder, nor did I call Tom a hero! My point has always been that Jon Williams was not the "nice, wonderful man " that all of his homies are painting him to be! And I can assure that Tom is not the monster that he is being painted as! With that said, Tyler's life, in the long run, will be MUCH better having his abusive father out of the picture!!
