Wolfe City woman still missing

It has been almost one month since Lisa Chandler disappeared from her home near Wolfe City.

Despite a reward being offered, and several calls which resulted in false hopes, no trace of the woman has turned up in the weeks since.

“We haven’t heard a thing,” Hunt County Chief Deputy Robert White said Friday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety currently lists Chandler as “endangered”, according to the agency’s “Missing Persons Clearing House” Web site (www.txdps.state.tx.us/mpch/MissingPersons.asp... ).

The family, who hails from Louisiana and Florida, has posted a $1,000 reward for information about Chandler, who disappeared from her home on Highway 34 North on the weekend of Sept. 22-24.

White said there have been many calls of reported sightings of Walker, none of which have been verified. There is also a lot of talk among the community about what might, or might not, have happened.

“I’ve heard five different rumors, none of which are true,” White said.

Family members believe Chandler may have begun walking south along Highway 34 toward Greenville from her residence and may have been picked up by a passing motorist. Sheriff’s investigators were able to track his mother’s scent with bloodhounds five miles along the highway before the trail ended.

Chandler was last heard from around 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. Her family was unable to reach her when they tried to call her at around the same time the next day. The door to her home was found unlocked and the windows open.

Family members say Chandler has dealt with mental health issues in the past and was taking anti-depressant medications at the time.

Anyone who may have information regarding Chandler is being asked to contact the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office.

As I understand it, there have been no updates. A few unconfirmed reports of sightings, but nothing definite. The Texas Department of Public Safety still lists her as missing.

Thanks for your concern, as most of you know she has yet to be found and no solid leads. There is little I can do from Florida but keep my ears open and talk to the officer in charge of this case. Again thank you guys....

It's been a while since I've looked at this page but hate to say that I have still found nothing.... Tina sweetie, I'm sorry but your Dad is a peice of shit.... If she turns up dead I will see to it that both your father, Carlton Boutee and Harry Doyle are investaged throughly... She didn't have the means vanish in to thin air considering she had no money, and obviously no vehilce since it was at the house and no purse including ID and such. The weird thing is that Carlton Boutee was in town from Florida when this happend and didn't even pay his respects to me or my family... This has brought me and my family nothing but greif but not only this but the fact that she hung out with white trash dope heads..... The only other thing I can think of is that someone is hiding her our for some reason!! WHY, I have no idea...
