I have lived in Surprise, and I now live in Wittmann. We moved here to avoid all the hustle and bustle of daily life in the city. We chose to move here to give our children a chance to grow up in a rural area and allow them to experience all that life has to offer. The opportunity to be able to play without the worries of gun shots, drugs, and other concerns of parents. We enjoy immensely the simple life of this town and have decided that IF Surprise annexation does go through we will pack up and move further west towards wickenburg or Aguila. People choose to live in this area for the simplicity of life, the quietness of night, no lights, no smog, no pollution, feeling safe and a feeling of community. Where you know all your neighbors and everyone helps everyone. As for being unintelligent walks of life, Yes every town has them. As for OUR Town, We may not wear suits and ties and designer shoes. We may run around in jeans, and cut offs and cowboy boots and hats, BUT we value life and all it has to offer, Have an A+ Achieving school for our children and Many of the citizens do have educations and good jobs. Some yes might be unemployed due to our current financial status thanks to our government. However, OUR Town is a much better place to raise a family and live rather than living in Phoenix, Glenale, Peoria, or EVEN YES SURPRISE!!!

No one wants to annex Wittman - it is a sh*thole full of low IQ whiners.
That is a pretty mean thing to say. I don't feel I meet your opinions of Whittmann citizens. Actually I think the people who live out here are very smart and friendly. You really shouldn't judge people you do not know. As far as a sh*thole maybe there are some homes out here that may not look as nice as your home but maybe they are doing the best they can. There you go again with judging others you do not even know. You must really be someone.....To important for me to ever get to meet you and show you just how wrong you are. Shame on you...

I have recently been contacted about the wittmanncitizens.com site being confused with http://www.wittmannnews.com and wanted to clarify that the two sites are not now nor never have been associated in any way.

http://www.wittmannnews.com evolved following the 2008 general elections when local residents indicated support and a need for a local news source that could be available to them on matters of local concern and provide a more in depth coverage format that topix.com did not permit.

Also it would allow for original sources of information to be recognized rather than hearing about events through the grapevine.

http://www.wittmannews.com at this time is totally funded through the owner’s private resources and is intended to serve as a community service.

Any promotional services for local businesses in the Wittmann-Morristown or edge of Surprise areas are provided as a courtesy in an effort to encourage Wittmann residents to do support local small business owners.

Again wittmannnews.com is in no way associate with wittmanncitizens.com nor any other website other than those listed through the wittmannnews.com !

Peace and have a safe and happy Labor Day…

Can anyone help us, our home burned down in August and found out that We in Wittman past 247th Ave do not have Fire service. We are out of the Fire District and have yet to find out what we need to do to get something done about this. Others will have this problem and it would be nice to have the service and not get a bill for $7,000.00 from the Sun City West Fire Department. We did not think of Fire Service availabilty, when we purchased our home. I know that past 247th ave, there are some really beautiful homes, so sad to know that they also do not have Fire Service. Thank Jimmie & Lupe Wren

Your best bet is to try to get a coalition of neighbors to form a group and begin approaching Wittmann's Fire District or Buckeye's who has annexed up through the Hassayampa and Toyota Proving Grounds. If you can get on the fire district tax rolls you will also be in their mutual aid areas where any fire department responding will be under the county umbrella of coverage, you'll also begin to pay fire district property taxes. If these two agencies can't bring you in to their district then approaching county supervisors for help is the next best bet...other than that be proactive and buy your own used water truck and put a gasoline powered pressure pump and hose on it and use it to keep dust down around homes and dirt roads and for fires. You need to have a water source available that can pump fast enough to refill whichever type of truck you or tank you get. It may you and your neighbor’s only recourse. I know of several people who've rigged water trailers to keep dust down on their roads but also have a pump on the back that they could bring the initial stages of a fire under control. Sadly depending on the structure once it goes, it goes. Many times the fire department does a better service to the homeowner to utilize as few of resources as possible to avoid running a bill up for them especially if they are out of a fire district.

I tried to buy in Wittmann but my IQ was too high. Apparently you have to have an IQ of less than 60 to qualify.

Your name says it all (poorme) admit it, you just didn't have the money it takes to buy into a classy fucking place like Wittmann, what with it's gated communities, HOA'S and recreational facilities galore. Try Scottsdale, Rio Verde or paradise Valley, maybe you can afford one of those places you poor bastard, but you will never make the cut in glorious WITTMANN!!! J.W. Simms.

To Sham - I live on a $265,000 piece of horse property that is Beautiful and I live in Wittmann. I make well over 6 figures and have no problem with the low income housing. Most of the people are good and not low IQ. And even if they have a low IQ they have a right as an American citizen to not be harassed by an intellectual wanna be using their own personal agenda. Every city in Maricopa county has low income housing and to go as low as saying Low IQ people. Well I make probably 5 times what you make every year and guess what where does that put you on the low IQ scale. You need to back off the residents out here. It's bad enough the City of Surprise is trying to destroy a good man that runs the 4D Arena helping families come together by fining him for stuff that is legal in the County of Maricopa right next to his property. This is a safe place for kids to go that teaches horsemanship and keeps them away from hanging out with drug people. He is 13 miles from the Surprise City but his property was annexed by Surprise. He is being fined for things he does that are illegal 50 feet away on county property. I am going to expose the evil in your city government as I am a photo journalist.

Starting in the last post from this point I am making a correction so as not to confuse people. I am so angry I didn't edit the post. My apologies. So Starting from:

He is 13 miles from the Surprise City but his property was annexed by Surprise. A small sliver of land that the City of Surprise has no right to. How you got it is beyond me. He is being fined for things he does on his property that do not follow the City of Surprise's building codes but 50 feet away on Maricopa County property it would be legal. I am going to expose the evil in your city government as I am a photo journalist. Get ready for an investigative report that will knock your socks off. The truth shall make us free. I have already pulled all the information on Debbie Peters and the location of her property the lady writing code violation fines. She lives right down the street from the 4D Arena and also has an Arena wanting to make money. As the story unfolds. This is going to be the most exciting story I have done in many years. Brace yourself. What I know about the City of Surprise already is enough to be a best selling novel. Let's see how they react when the whole truth and nothing but the truth comes out in documentation. Have a nice day. I would say it's about time for a council meeting in private.

Organize and DO NOT allow Surprise to annex you.we along with others were victoms of annexation lies from Surprise ..you will be taxed out/condemed/a blight/abated for code violations/made to buy permits for everything you have done already and for anything you want to do later.pay for any imprrovements by the city or loose your property ..bond issues are payable in full by you upon request or the city ownes your property.all the money at once and this is the common practice of surprise.we were finally burned out along with 4 other property owners over a 6 month time period.1 at a time and in perfect order of imporntance .the city charges for fire service..pay up or they owne your land.a huge payoff for the city with a railyard ..you are in the way if you are annexed and they will get rid of you like they did my little community..agenda 21 on you tube explains the derective and will outline the citys method moveing forward. watch the video and thank me later.
