police and firefighters is not that dangerous compared to some other jobs. We don't hear about it when someone gets killed or hurt. Ha the police or a firefighter gets a scratch It's all over the news. I have seen people killed on the job and never here a word about it on the news.
It's a tragic loss of life my hart go's you to family's.
more dangerour jobs? like what, tightrope walker? they're might be more dangerous jobs, but when someone put their life on the line to protect YOU OR ME, there's your difference.

My Country 'Tis of thee:

god - government of deceivers / grand OLE deceit.

If it is destroyed they have to spend to rebuild it.

If the government employee is dead the US treasury saves money (death fix it >deficit< / subterfuge / American Holocaust).

First they came for the veterans who had monetary awards, then they came for the federal / postal workers, then the disabled, then active veterans, then teachers, and now the students. What you gonna do when they target you? American Holocaust / Terminal Injustice / Economic Oppression - extreme outrageous physical, mental, financial and emotional stress / murderbyproxy -
/ suicides and executions).

Every job has a risk, some more risky than others. I was in the armed forces and had few arse tweeking moments. In my opinion Polic..Firefighters and all the rest of the emergency services are all high profile jobs. Whatever the emergency services are attending to it attracts media attention.

There is a lot more dangerous jobs than police and firefighters where people put their lives on the line every day. None of them are hero's, They are doing the job they are trained and paid to do.

True, but most of those jobs are not public safety jobs. How can a roofer that falls and dies be considered a hero and a big story written about it in the paper? You have no heart because you have no brains. You are making a stupid nonsense point. You are a fool! and should be ashamed.

I was a wildland firefighter for 17 years. The majority of this time was spent on a type 1 hotshot crew just like granite mountain. We never lost a crew member and I was never on a fire where any one was lost. I do consider myself lucky given the environment that we worked in most days. My heart literally aches for these lost firefighters and their families. Now for the hard part. The bottom line here will be somebody made a grave mistake. These boys never should have traded a position in the black for one in the green period. Especially in these conditions. The assumption they were moving to provide protection to the ranch house is crazy. You don't do point protection with hand tools. As a hotshot we viewed structures as more fuel period. Our job was to anchor and flank the fire where possible. Structure protection has to be done with a structure crew and the proper equipment, especially in front of a fast moving, weather driven monster like yarnell hill. This tragedy will lye squarely at the feet of supervisors in the field and it will become textbook material for fire fighters for years to come. These boys will not have died in vain if we all pay attention to the hard learned lessons of yarnell hill. This post is being respectfully submitted by me. Because I truly do care.
