Has anyone else gotten a bill for a huge deposit from APS after already having power with them? I just got laid off last month and was a few days late on my bill, now this month I get a bill for a $440. deposit or my power will be shut off? My normal bill was already paid in full before I got this deposit letter too? I've had services with them for 7 months and I'm just now getting a deposit? Can someone tell me how they can charge these deposits this late in the game, SRP never did this to me!

Well now "Miss Daisy", you see, this is how it goes. Arizona Public Service co. is just plain no fucking good. What you're going through with them is just standard operational procedure with A.P.S. Any time A.P.S. gets a chance to wet their weenie by sticking it to a young lady such as yourself, why! they lick their chops at the thought of how far they can go.

Now what you need to do is to keep your legs tightly closed and tell A.P.S. that NO! means NO!! Make it clear to them that what they are trying to do is tantamount to financial rape and you're not! having any of that. Now, if all else fails with them and they still will not accept NO! for an answer, there are some very fine Chasity belts, free for the asking at some of the finer local T V news stations. Mr. Gary Harper, of KTVK channel three" is one of the better made belts, that have saved many a young maiden from being screwed" by unscrupulous persons, but there are others I'm sure, that can provide you with an equal amount of protection where you need it most.

Other than these suggestions, I suppose you could simply tell A.P.S. to fuck off and die! you ain't paying the deposit and see where that takes you. Good luck to you "Miss Daisy" and remember I'm on your side. J.W. Simms.

I am thinking about retiring to Arizona and would like to know approximately how much the electric bills average on a monthy basis. Also, what is a typical bill during the summer months?

I am thinking about buying a home in the 1200-1500 square foot range.

Thanks.

Rob, after the problems I've had with APS I'd tell you to go with SRP, they serve the east valley areas, in Arizona! In Surprise my APS bills have been running from $380.-$590. monthly! My brother's bills in Mesa, same size of house, runs from $150.$250. monthly! Both houses are about 2400sqft and both newer homes!I wish you luck on your buying Arizona is still a wonderful place to live regardless of APS!

Thank you J.W. Simms! You have been very helpful, since I wrote on here APS has now send me a wonderful bill of almost $500. for 11 days of service! When I ask the APS worker over the phone if they could please come out and check my meter, he informed me that I had a Smart Meter on my house! He told me that Smart Meter's DO NOT BRAKE, he said they've NEVER had one brake! When I looked outside at my meter it only shows particle numbers, looking more like lines? He said that was normal?I also have to note that I do not normally run my AC during the daytime either, so these sizes of bills are just plain crazy! I will be contacting the news at this point....thank you so much for your support!

You're welcome Darlin, the main problem with A.P.S. is that they have the Arizona "cooperation" commission on their payroll. For instants, if A.P.S. wants" a 5% rate hike, they will ask the commission for 8% the "cooperation" commission will say sure no problem, A.P.S. will get a 6% rate hike and the commission gets 2% under the table, which is a lot! happens every time. Of course this is just my opinion of the bond between A.P.S. and the "cooperation" commission. J.W. Simms.

"Miss Daisy", I have a strong feeling these new "smart meters" are nothing more than electronic thieves, designed by A.P.S. engineers for no other purpose than to delete our bank account. I'm waiting for the day when some smart young investigative reporter will expose this scam and A.P.S. will be in court. Until that day, I will continue to compare my electric bills of this year with those of last year with the old meter, any major discrepancies and A.P.S. will be hearing from me, A.P.S. does Not!! like hearing from J.W. Simms. By all means do! contact the news investigative reporters, if one doesn't seem interested, call another one, do not! be discouraged, the last one you call, may be your boy, although I can't imagine Gary Harper of KTVK channel 3 not jumping on this problem. As always these are just my opinions of Arizona public service company and not necessarily the opinions of my sponsors. Remember I'M on your side. J.W. Simms.

Smart meters? Everyone I know who has one of these so called smart meters installed, including myself, has a higher electric bill than for the same period last year. Much higher. About 20 per cent higher. Coincidence? I think not. We are being robbed!!! And they are no longer paying someone to read the meter.

A.P.S. claims they still have to pay someone to read the "smart meters" at the station where the signal comes in, but what they're saving in fuel, vehicle maintenance, outside meter reading, etc, is a very large amount of money" but!! no reduction in consumer electric rates. A.P.S. and the Arizona "cooperation commission" are our worst nightmare in terms of losing money.

Can you believe A.P.S. has the Goddamn Gaul to want to assume control of your A/C thermostat? in order, to save you money on your electric rates claims A.P.S., horseshit!! if that happened, we'd all be sitting around the house, wearing jackets in the summer and going crazy from the constant hum of that high dollar son of a bitch in the back yard. In the winter! we'd all be sitting around in our underwear sweating our ass off. I had never even heard of the "smart meter" until I got a notice from A.P.S. saying the guy would be by in a day or two to install the fucking bandit. I do not! trust A.P.S. or the "cooperation commission" never have never will.

Maybe Miss Daisy" will pitch a loud enough bitch concerning her own dilemma, that someone will look into these appropriately named "smart meters" (so far they're smart enough to steal my money) to insure they are legit. J.W. Simms.

I just wanted to give everyone an update on my newest APS bill.... I wanted to see if this new Smart Meter really was just another way to rob us blind much like their lovely huge deposits. With out using my lights, TV, or AC at all during the day, from 7am to 8pm at night my bill went down less then 20 bucks? That was with their adjustments for lower temps outside, just under 600 bucks total for one month! I was told personally by APS that if I did this I would see a HUGE difference, now note; I did not tell APS I was really going to do this......maybe I should tell them next time so they can change their numbers! Since we now know that they do not really read the meters!
It simply kills me how huge companies like APS can rob people blind and with a service we can't just say No to.....and during these hard times! And there doesn't seem to be a thing we can do either?

Well now "Miss Daisy" unless you're living in the cardboard box your air conditioner came in,$600.00/month is an outrageous fucking electric bill. I live in a 2,000+ square Ft" house and my electric bill for the hottest summer months was just under $300.00 and that is with a crazy person living in my house who likes to run the clothes dryer at 3:pm in the afternoon while she has a meatloaf in the oven, sometimes she'll even put clothes in the damn thing.

I can't really be sure if your post is the truth or if you're just screwing around in this forum and I'll tell you why. If you turn your A/C off all day long in the summer months, that house would get so Goddamn hot! that when you turn your A/C back on it would have to work it's ass off 24/7 just to pull it back down to your comfort level, which would result in an increase, not! a decrease in energy consumption. Just set your thermostat at your comfort level and leave it the hell! alone, if your unit is functioning properly it will do it's job as efficiently as possible, the one exception is if you have a programmable thermostat, you can set it up a couple of degrees when you leave for work and have it come back down a half hour or so before getting home, this may save you a few pennies a month.

One final thing, Never, Never,Ever!!! take any fucking thing A.P.S tells you as the truth, in the first place they don't know a Goddamn thing and in the second place they still don't know a Goddamn thing and in the third place they are in the business of selling!! energy (disposing of it) NOT!! conserving it, so they will lie to you about anything that will get you to burn more juice. Definitely buy an all ELECTRIC property, especially in areas otherwise served only by propane gas(tanks). It is SAFER, is CHEAPER, and first hand allows you eventual hookups for solar applications on your property that YOU buy.Do NOT, ever rent any solar, as all their businesses(I have done the research) are structured to bill you like a HIGH revolving credit card.Check it out, go ELECTRIC of OFF the GRID with your own electric at the start.
If you choose to build, build in all passive solar heat/cooling design and add solar later if you need to.

Yes, and their are other gas companies in other states who use part of their profit to finance energy improvements for existing customers at the customers expense over time, thus allowing and promoting residential/business AFFORDABLE improvements NOW. Where is the electric utility companies encouragement in Arizona?

A meatloaf in the oven and loaf of meat on the computer in the Simms house. Does you wife still have her adams apple or has it been a side dish with the meatloaf? I love you conspiracy theories. Surprise is going to install speed cameras soon. Not on the streets, but in your sewer line so they know if you are chewing your corn too fast. Bon'apetite fucktard!
