Well the long awaited EIS has been released. All 980 pages of it. After reading said report I have just a few questions.

1. Will the noise from the F-35 damage my home in the vicinity of Aux 1?

2. Will the noise from the F-35 damage my hearing?

3. There are four upcoming public hearings scheduled to discuss the EIS. Why is there not a hearing held near AUX 1? The closest is in Sun City, some 25 miles away???

4. Why has the Air Force not bought in some F-35's for real life real time common sense testing of what the actual noise effects will be on the population surrounding the main base and it's aux fields?

From the report I must conclude the following as to my questions.

1. Maybe, issue was not addressed in the report

2. Maybe, issue was discussed in the report with an affirmative answer.

3. Are we being thrown under the bus?

4. Are we being thrown under the bus?

I am not against the F-35. If it comes to Luke that's great. If it damages homes and hearing, then the Air Force has a huge problem.

LITCHFIELD PARK - The City of Litchfield Park says Luke Air Force Base is the leading the candidate to become the training site for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, but no final decision will be made until after the environmental impact study is complete, which includes public hearings.

There have been several concerns from residents about the noise these fighter jets bring with them. A recent study shows the jets are twice as loud as the F-16's currently flown at the base.

Air Force authorities say that may sound like a lot, but the human ear actually hears no difference. They say the F-16's decibel level is equivalent to a lawn mower engine, while the F-35's level is more like a motorcycle engine.

If you want your voice heard on whether the F-35 should go to Luke AFB, you'll have several opportunities next week. Each open house will start with an information session from 5pm-6pm, followed by a presentation and formal public comment session from 6pm-8pm.""They say the F-16's decibel level is equivalent to a lawn mower engine? Maybe a lawn mower engine strapped to the side of your fucking head. What a bunch of lying cocksuckers, as far as I'm concerned they can bomb that fucking Luke field out of existence. J.W. Simms.

The scheduled sessions are:

Monday, February 13
The Wigwam, Wigwam Ballroom
300 E. Wigwam Blvd
Litchfield Park

Tuesday, February 14
El Mirage Elementary School Gym
13500 N. El Mirage Road

Wednesday, February 15
Sundial Recreation Center auditorium
14801 N. 103rd Ave, Sun City

Thursday, February 16
Gila Bend Unified School District cafeteria
308 N. Martin Ave, Gila Bend

The meetings are a joke. The decision has already been made. The F-35's are coming to Luke. Our homes and hearing be damned. I hope that these aircraft do not damage our homes or our hearing, for that is not the sound of freedom.

Here is a link to a youtube video that lets you hear the difference between the F-35 and the F-16. The recording is of six fighters landing and is less than one minute long. Ignore the first three as they are F-15's. The next two are the F-35 and the last one is the F-16. There is a significant increase in the noise levels from a landing F-35 and a landing F-16. For those who unquestionably want the F-35 because of the "sound of freedom" you are going to get plenty of it.
