Help for my dad, ASAP

I live out of state. My stepmom of 24 years has decided that she doesn't want my 88 year old dad to come home. She doesn't want to take care of him. First he was in the hospital, now physical therapy. He still has his mind. She won't give him his billfold or phone numbers. She's visiting him, but he's being kept a prisoner. I was told to talk to the Attorney General on Monday. My dad is a WWII veteran. I want to have power of attorney. I feel helpless and angry. This could happen to any one. How scary. Will someone give me a suggestion or two before I head out your way?

I need to talk to someone about getting power of attorney and helping my dad. His spouse won't let him come home and won't give him his billfold or phone book. He's a WWII veteran. He's been transferred to a local PT facility. He wants me to help. I don't know where to start, and I live out of state. Please?

Well "Dee" here is my professional opinion on this most tragic matter, why don't you simply put your stepmother out of your fathers misery? J.W. Simms.
