I am for, Building the rail yard. I think it is important to bring money into the area so that we can build more schools, shopping and have money to do improvements to roads. You can not stop progress. If we did we would all be living in the first city founded in America.

I am absolutely opposed to building the rail yard by Nadaburg School!! There is too much risk to the children if there is a leak or explosion. I'm not against having a rail yard, just move it farther down Grand where there are no houses and no schools.

The county gets the money & we get NOTHING. That's why I have to Go Out & BUYYYYY stuff for my kid's grade! The school doesnt have the money for buying stuff like Craft Supplies, Toys for the kids in Preschool & Kindergarten, etc... They LIVE off of what the PARENTS BUY &&& DONATIONS!~Cuz the COUNTY blows our school off every year!!

I just spent almost $100 buying stuff the class needs to get thru the year!! The school sends home a list of Needed Materials that each grade needs at the beginning of the school year.

Now, YOU tell me who's gonna get the $$$$$??? Not Wittmann!!!

i lived here for 18 years and no nadaburg does get money from the county every year and also they dont use it for the childern or any thing like that they pocket it all and for second.they get paid for all the childern with speacial needs so there for you dont know anything u dummy so quit sticken up for the bumms that work at nadaburg and that ripps u off bye sayin they dont get no money from the county or state shows how much u know bout nadaburg school works u dip shit so i hope surprize does put that rail yard there and i also pray that we will become a part of surprize instead of the wickenburg that is a damm kkk town so there.

ie 1 day this past summer out here in Wittmann in the area Im in, got to 127 degrees outside. Both me & my neighbor have temp gauges. Not to mention, it's been hotter than that but this is about an Average high for us. Wont see that on any News Station!

Being that you live in Phoenix and would not be affected by the 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day a year noise I guess it's easy for you to say that. We the residents moved out here for a reason. That being, wide open space, natural scenery and NO FRICKIN noise all the time. Surprise doesn't even govern the property and they shouldn't have the right to OK such a project.

I think that there should NOT be a rail yard next to the school that I am a STUDENT at!!!!! I would rather not be late EVERY morning because of a train being in the way of the ENTRANCE to OUR school. Shame to the people that want to put one right there!!!!!

I don't live in Wittman, but my husband lived there as a young boy and went to school at Nadaburg. Regardless of WHERE this school is, who in their right mind would want to put a rail yard right next to it? Not only is there danger already mentioned such as propane cars exploding, but rail yards are always a curiosity for school kids and about irresistable. Does the railroad company have enough liability insurance to pay for these kids getting hurt at that yard? I can't believe it was even an issue -- most towns would immediately place putting a rail yard next to an elementary school in the NO ISSUE category and just not do it.

What is this rant about? None of this is relevant to whether or not a rail yard should be placed next to an elementary school. Stick to the topic -- there just should never be a rail yard placed next to an elementary school, I don't care if it is in a caucasion neighborhood, black neighborhood, mexican neighborhood, italian neighborhood, etc. In any and all neighborhoods, we each love our children and nobody should want to take the chance of ANY child getting seriously injured and least of all the railroad company.

My husband wants me to add his 2 cents worth: "There's miles between Whitman and Wickenberg where a rail yard could be located. But probably the town fathers are wanting the revenue that having the rail yard in their town would bring in (property taxes, local sales tax from workers there, etc.). So call your town council, county officials, or whatever the local government entails these days and let your voices be heard."

Here's the deal. BNSF wants 720 acres of land that are inside Wittmann's lines. Surprise Mayor Mrs Dont Give a Beep, wants that 720 acres of land & we dont wanna give it to her. She wants the cash & is willing to do whatever she can to get it & does NOTTT CARE about the KIDS who could get hurt. NOR does she care about the HazMat Tankers that will be STORED there either!!
Let's not forget when it's 114 in town, it IS 120 out here or HOTTER!! Me & my neighbor watch our gauges go up up up everyyyy summer. & the last thing we want are HazMat tankers ~no matter HOW MANY sitting w/in a mile of our houses.
Yeah a few are run down but from Just North of Lone Mountain & South, we have nice houses that arent more than 6 yrs old TOPS that could/would be damaged if something were to happen at the rail yard.
NORRRR do we want a Rail Yard in Wittmann!! Let Alone KITTY~KORNER to Nadaburg School!!
