I got this from the JC forum. Good for debate before the election. Enjoy!!!!
http://ed5015.tripod.com/ReligMormonQuickFact ...
This link shows the MANY, MANY ways that Mitt Romneys Views differ TOTALLY from Christianity.
One of which is this. There is NO TRUE CHURCH EXCEPT THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS.
Click on the link and scroll down to "Exaltations" You will see that Mormons believe that God was once a man, and that a man can become a God.
Open that bible that nobody around here ever reads, and open it to 2Thessalonians 2:4
It says that he will exalt himself as GOD. A Christin does not think that a man can become a God. Mitt Romney does.
Joseph Smith made over 9000 changes to the Holy BIble. Christians do not believe that you can add or subtract, give or take away anything from the bible. Mitt Romney does.
Deuteronomy 12:32 you cannot change the bible
Proverbs 20:6 you cannot change the bible
Revelation 22:18-19 you cannot change the bible
Mitt Romney believes in 560 differences in the book of LUKE
Mitt Romney believes in 483 differences in MATTHEW
Mitt Romney believes in 159 differences in JOHN
Mitt Romney believes in 188 differences in PSALMS
Do think Isaiah was a prophet? Isaiah and Jeremiah were two of the greatest propets in the bible. Joseph Smith made more changes to the book of ISAIAH than any other book.
Where do the changes occur? All through the bible. The first change is in the very first three versus of the bible in GENESIS. He went on to make 32 changes in the first book of the bible. He made twice as many changes in the New Testament as he did to the Old Testament. Also, he declared that Revelation was the "plainest" book that God wrote.
He said that THE SONG OF SOLOMON was uninspired by God and threw it out completely, There are 66 books in the bible. He made changes to all but 12 of them.
The man in the White House is a Christian. He believes the 66 books in the bible and nothing more. Mitt Romney beloves in the over 9000 changes to that bible, because a man in 1833 found some tablets (nobody knows where they are) and he could take the tablets, put a hat over his face, and translate the TRUE bible.
Once more, he believes that a man can become a god, and 2Thessaloninas said that he will exalt himself as God.

King James changed the bible. Historical fact! Several books of the bible where removed during the counsel of nicea. Where do you think the christmas tree comes from? The apocrypha was another several books of the bible that is still to this day considered part of the canonical texts. But it too was removed long ago.

You sound a little goofy your self. Always have to drink someones kool aid. Regardless of if it's there or not the book has been taken away from and added to so many times that it's insane. You're hitting a brick wall goofy. I'm an anarchist and athiest.

The Bible is unique.
It was written by 40 writers from all parts of life and at different times, yet there is a cohesiveness found that is fascinating.
Many other writings occured, and although they may have some historical context, they also proved to be not as reliable in context and cohesiveness as the text chosen.
The so called revisions to the KJV were actually changes and corrections in spelling and spelling. No text itself was actually alterred to reflect something different.
The copying of the Old Testament text was to the Hebrews sacred, and the ritual was strict, leading to a firm preservation of such.
There were diluted greek texts, but they are only about 5% of known available texts that are in agreement and they have been found in places that were very Anti-Christian. The Textus Receptus has over 90% agreement making it the actual "received text".
That was not actually a Christmas tree in Jeremiah. That tree was addorned with actual gold, silver, and such. It was also an object worship.
Not everyone who claims to be a bible believing Christian is neccesariy a Bible Believer, or attempts to live right.
I have more to add, but people tend to believe what they want to.

You are a punk. Believe what you will but don't kick others in the teeth for doing the same. You say
you are an anarchist and an atheist. When you are 70 and having chest pain, with a lifetime of experience and atheistic pride when the big one hits your chest the first, the VERY first thing you'll say is,"oh God!". You know, the one you don't believe in.

Even THEN you still have time to see the truth. Perhaps through time you will see the truth sooner. Just LOOK and WATCH and STUDY.

I would start with a two semester course in world history....you don't know up from down.
I don't mean to insult, you are young, dumb and full of...angst. Try adding some love in there. It does wonders. NOT love of yourself, either. Onanism may be your forte but it is time to move on...

I won't put as much time and effort into this one seeing as the one I just tried to post wouldn't go through. Alas the joys of debating over a phone.

Melvin if you look more closely you will see you have mixed me up with another poster. By the way I do not know the other posters age/gender. I am a 31 yo female.

Religion
I said earlier I was athiest. I am actually agnostic, but most people in this area seem to not know what that word means. I have taken several philosophy and religion classes. I was raised in a VERY Baptist family! Something always seemed off about it to me, that's why I took classes. If I had to choose a religion it would probably be paganism. I have read to bible front to back. I have also read the Gospel of Mary, the book of Enoch, and the Apocrypha (books that didn't make the final cut.)
The original poster stated their opinion and I stated mine.

Politics
I said I believe in Anarchy. I do intend to vote. As far as the presidents go. I will probably write someone in. I do fully support a couple of local politicians. I am completely against Romney and Obama. I have always been for the 3rd party myself.

Me
You may be suprised at how much love someone like me has. I mostly help children, and but also adults. I mostly help those with Disabilities. I have helped several others though. Hope this puts a better light onto the situation.

I'd rather have a Mormon in the WH than a Muslim. You claim to be agnostic, why do you even give two sh*ts about religion? I always found people like you entertaining. You don't have anything to believe in, so you go around trying to sound like some intelligent superior being. I feel sorry for people like you. Faith - whether in God or whatever - is a driving force...

Alas read more closely dear. I am under the impression you don't know what agnostic is. I believe in a higher power, I do not want to label whatever it may be. Like I said I usually just say athiest cause that's what these under read people seem to try to call me. Thank you for proving my point.

Personally I don't think that any religious person should be allowed to run for president ...here's why ,most religious people believe that they will see the end of the earth in their lifetime , now how can anyone who believes in their heart that there will be no tomorrow , make sound and healthy decisions for the future ?
