Your average everyday Tea Party ideology!

"Do you know a guy that is not what he is pretending to be? I am looking for an individual named John Q Free_Thinker. He is a gay Muslim Marxist socialist terrorist, and a North Korean spy. He once proved to me that I was wrong about him, but I was too stupid to believe the truth. How about helping me hunt him down? He will be easy to spot, he'll be the black dude with a target on his back. Lets meet at the park, you'll know me by my license plates, The new Virginia Tea Party plates, I am glad Virginia decided to issue these plates. They have the famous snake and "don't tread on me" logo, and all of them end in the letters "T.P." like toilet paper LMAO, How ironic since most people would agree that these tags are not worth wiping your ass own."

At least it's a good way to ID crazy radical conservatives! Now if we could only get Jihadist, IRA, MS-13, or Pagan tags!

I'm not a crazy Tea Party radical, I'm not even a conservative and I have those "Don't Tread On Me" plates. Most liberal minded Americans don't understand the second amendment to the Constitution. There are many interpretations of what it means, but it's sole purpose is for personal defense of an individual, from not only a tyrannical government (foreign or domestic) but any threat to an individual. If you don't want to exercise that right, good for you, but don't try to force me to do the same. You're acting just like republicans when you do that. Just like when they attempt to force their religious beliefs on you about marriage, and how they force their religious beliefs on people when it comes to their reproductive rights, don't stoop to their level and tell me I can't own something someone else wasn't responsible with. Just because a few assholes went bat-shit crazy and shot people with a certain type of weapon DOES NOT mean everyone with that same type of weapon is going to do the same thing. Weapons don't force people to go bat-shit crazy and start shooting school children, people get there all on their own. Limiting their choice of weapons will just drive those that have a hunger for that type of thing to come up with more inventive and effecting means of carrying out that craziness.

Crazy is as crazy does.
It doesn't matter WHO you might be. You could be the nicest person on the face of the earth. However, when I see those tags on vehicles around here I instantly think you are probably a jerk. Just saying.

I know what you're saying, but you're just feeding into the same madness most conservatives gave into long ago. The "Can't we all just get along" is too cliche, so I won't say it. I will say the all-to-familiar "Don't judge a book by it's cover" though. This whole two-party system is killing this country, that's why I am neither a dem or a repub, because both sides make me sick to my stomach with their incessant bickering back and forth, name calling and demonizing of their counterparts. I am what some people like to call an "American", you political types that lean either left or right are clueless, it is possible to lean neither left nor right, but to stand straight up and call yourself an American.

I DO wish we all could just get along. It is cliche, but it's true. I want the best for PEOPLE, not a rich mans wallet. I also don't like war or guns or drugs.
I think we all should get healthcare without having to worry about the cost. What does that make me besides a dreamer?

Besides a dreamer? A surrealist, I too dislike war, but I do have an affinity for a good weapon, to me it's like insurance, better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Drugs, same thing, especially prescription drugs are a blight on humanity as a whole, almost rivaling politics. But getting everyone to a common ground on just these issues would be like putting a fire out with gasoline, just isn't going to happen.

Erm they aren't actually just Tea Party places. The plates themselves are just "Don't Tread on Me" plates...they have no political affiliation at all.

Before jumping to conclusions about something, why not actually learn a bit of the history of your own country and find out what stands for.

Are you delusional? The Tea Party is nothing more than republicans who think that the republican party is not conservative enough. They are really Teapublicans! And are all dumbasses!

I hate that the Tea Party laid claim to the "don't tread on me" thing ... I dislike them as much as I dislike the extremes on the other end of the political agenda...It suits libertarians much better,

No I'm not delusional. Why would you ask that? I stated in my first post I'm not part of that group of loons, I'm not even a conservative. I'm not a democrat, republican, libertarian, I'm an American, with no political affiliation whatsoever. I just don't think the American people should hand over or register their weapons. I am a history buff, and historically, countries that disarm their citizens don't have the citizens best interests at heart when they make the decision to disarm. Ever wonder why the second amendment was worded the way it was? I'll tell you, the men who wrote it had enough intelligence and foresight to know that weapons will evolve past "muskets", that's why it doesn't say "Right to bear muskets", it says "Right to bear arms", as in armament. Do I think we should be allowed to carry around rocket launchers and grenades? Hell no, that is ridiculous. Do I think we should be allowed to purchase and own nearly all small arms such as rifles and handguns? Depends, if you're a mental case with a history of violence, no. If you're a law abiding citizen who has taken safety courses with firearms and are responsible with them, yes. Just because a handful of psychos used these tools to do harm doesn't mean everyone is going to. The gun debate is very similar to the abortion debate. With both sides being completely unreasonable about their argument. Pro-lifers think it's their mission straight from god to stop abortions, where as pro-choicers would rather leave those decisions up to the woman carrying the child. Same with guns but now the sides have changed, liberals think it's their mission (whether or not from god is questionable) to take all the big bad guns away from everyone so they don't shoot their eye out, or someone else's eye, and republicans are of the impression that we should make that decision on a personal level, not an across the board ban that would disarm much of the country and leave innocent, law abiding people with no way to defend themselves, other than calling 911. And I believe we are all in agreement that calling 911 doesn't save anyone from being shot, raped, kidnapped, or robbed.

Both sides make good points, and both sides are complete morons on other topics. Liberals pretend like they are champions of the little man, and republicans pretend they are patriots. We REAL Americans know that both "parties" are completely out of touch with reality and we are fed up with the two party system. How is that delusional again? Oh I remember, it's because I refuse to choose either side, that's what makes me "Delusional". Pfft...

<quoted text>
The Tea Party adopted the Gadsen flag to try and further their cause. Radical political parties have been doing that since there have been political parties. There are two good examples of that. Example one is the Nazi party, they adopted the swastika as a symbol of their party. A symbol that has been used since before antiquity was adopted by a hateful, racist, and wholly insane group of individuals and now represents hate, far from it's original intent. Example number two, which interestingly enough was adopted by DEMOCRATS, again, as a symbol of hate. Many people are seemingly unaware that the Confederate Battle flag was adopted by the KKK as a symbol of hate, and what political party was most KKK members at the time? That's right, democrats. So now conservatives, republicans and TP'ers are trying to use a symbol promote their narrow-minded view of the world, and they will only succeed if people allow them to. There's a British saying that fits what I'm getting at here, "Take the piss out of it" and they will cease to hold the symbol up. Remind everyone of the REAL origin of the Gadsen flag and don't let simple-minded people tell you that it's wrong to support what you believe in. And what I'm supporting by putting those plates on my vehicle is the Constitution of the United States of America, more specifically the 2nd Amendment, because once you take away an INDIVIDUAL'S right to protect themselves, there's pretty much nothing left you can take but their life, and that's going to be pretty easy with a population of 300+ million unarmed citizens.

Jesus, I just gave a history lesson on Topix, how sad is that?

The peace symbol is another good one if you want to take symbols out of context. We see them on t-shirts and other things quite often, when throughout history it is a symbol of a broken cross, a sign of death of man....also used in some Nazi patches.

If they come out with a license plate with a peace sign, I'll be sure to accuse them of being Nazi's. Since apparently everybody that has a "Don't Tread on Me" plate must be a conservative tea party radical./sarcasm

the said truth is 68% of all americans are on some form of welfare, that means that 68% of americans depend of the goverment so what do you think is going to happen when theres no more welfare when the american dollar is no more, its time to wise up take the 600 dollars of free ebt and buy can food.

Do you realize that government assistance programs only account for about 1% of our nation's budget? That's right, a whole 1%. Military spending and other wastes is what is breaking the bank. People like you just want the pleasure of watching other humans starve to death...You aren't worth the flesh you're printed on if you are one of those that think that EVERYONE getting assistance are users.
