LOL!!
Looks like this fluff piece got the bashing it deserved.
Gee, once again going to the media.
What about all those lies, about their members doing charity, but they are too "humble" to talk about it????

Nothing about their non existent charities in this one either.

How come they didn't mention how they annoy people by bothering them at their homes??
Yet they just HAD to mention, how people seem to love to complain about the "commercialism" of their own holiday.

Puh-lease!!

I like the scripture that says " remove the log from our own eyes and then we will be able to remove the straw for the other fellows'

The more I contemplate that scripture, the more I realize, that no one else can remove the log from our own eyes..

this is personal responsibility ...

I would suggest that the men running the Watchtowers are too busy trying to help others remove the log in their eyes, they have forgotten to concentrate on removing the one from their own eyes.

We have our letters from our body of Elders the Apostles...we don't need anything other then these.

There are many people who don't care about what the Bible says. There are more that don't care what their religion believes, they just like the way they believe. They like their particular church because it suits their needs.

Jehovah's witnesses know that, we don't force anyone to listen to us, all we do is show people that there is a new world ahead for mankind, the people who are meek and humble and want to do what God wants to be truly happy.

To find a person who wants to know what the Bible teaches is our job, it's the message of God's Kingdom that gives man hope for the future. A new world with no sickness, crime, pain or tears is a wonderful hope to have. 2 Peter 3:11-13

Even tho only a few will listen to the millions of witnesses preaching today, we still have to be busy doing God's will, so people will know God tried to tell them the way out of this wicked world. Noah and his family worked and preached for over 50 years, only eight people survived the end of that world.

Witnesses of organization focus on watchtowers , and the watchtowers focus on telling people what bits of the Bible doesn't belong to them, like for example the whole new covenant.

The Watchtower is a printing Company and it prints Bibles and Bible study aids. The Watchtower magazine is filled with information that will help the reader to adjust his understanding according to the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles.

If anyone is not interested in wanting spiritual help in understanding the Bible, so be it. No one is forcing you to read it.

Even Jesus said:
Luke 9:5
And wherever people do not receive YOU, on going out of that city shake the dust off YOUR feet for a witness against them.”
Matthew 10:14
(Matthew 10:14-15). . .Wherever anyone does not take YOU in or listen to YOUR words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off YOUR feet.

No, it's filled with information to indoctrinate the reader that the WTBS is the only channel to God, and to draw them into their organization.

Boy, that's mighty big of you not to force people to read you cultish propaganda. A better idea would be for those "interested" ones to actually read the bible.

NONE of the leaders of Jehovah's Witnesses have any glory, power, money, influences, possesions.

They all take the legal equivalent of a vow of poverty.

I laughed at the part about only celebrating the Lord's Supper once a year. "Celebrating" means that 99.5% of the congregation sits passively as the bread and wine are passed to everyone without them partaking in it at all.

After all, as they claim, that part of the bible was written only for 144,000 who somehow *know* they have a heavenly calling.

Passing up the symbols of the Lord's body and blood which was shed on our behalf? Disgraceful and disrespectful.

Maybe they no longer say this, but, it is still true. A few years ago, when I was a devout Dub, I heard a Circuit Overseer say, from the "platform",

"brothers and sisters, the Watchtower is our authority, whatever you hear from others, even if you hear it said from the "platform" or at an assembly, or anywhere else, it is not official until you read it in the Watchtower, that is where the Society prints our official stand on anything"

So, you can understand, Amara, why people simplify their comments by simply saying "the Watchtower".

It is sad the way some people try to measure their spirituality by the number of times they say the word "Jesus" as if it is some magical talisman that when invoked enough times will procure favor from God.

You can read your Bible every day and that is wonderful, but that does not make you a servant of God. Jesus said we must know, love and serve God.

Reading the Bible and being a student of God's word by yourself or with a religion is necessary to be able to find the truth of God's word for todays world. It makes it easier to teach someone who is familiar with the Bible, but even then if the person is not open to Jehovah, the true God of the Bible, he will not progress in the truth.

That is not my problem, I don't make goats into sheep, all I do is try to find the sheep Jesus is looking for. John 10: 14-16

Thus speaks the woman who openely states that the Bible is wrong in many places.

Notice the typical WT follower response: attack the person, not the argument.

And, newsflash, the Bible is wrong in many places! Global flood...LoL...

Uhm...sort of like the JWs incessant need to use the name "Jehovah?" Their insistence that no true worship can take place without their throwing it all over the place?

I am not convinced if it was a global flood or not, there is fairly good evidence that it was not, however, there are also good explanations for the Bible indicating it was a global flood.

We have been used to taking what we read, as fact, as we understand it, and as we have been taught.

As I have said before, we need to be careful about being dogmatic on some of the things we read in the Bible, not meaning the Bible is wrong, but the way we have been taught to understand it can be wrong.

The Bible says something like "they have spread this teaching over the entire world" (not an exact quote I know) obviously the apostles had not traveled to Australia, the America's, etc., but, there are explanations for the Bible using those words.

But they focus on a corrupt translation of the Bible as well as WTS literature. The New World Translation (NWT), the JWs’
own Bible version, was created between 1950-61 in several parts, beginning
with New Testament . The translation was made by an "anonymous" committee,
which transliterated and altered passages that were problematic for earlier
JWs. Nathan Knorr, Fred Franz, Albert Schroeder, George Gangas, and Milton
Henschel were later identified as the men that created the text, which is used by no other sect. Franz studied non-biblical Greek for two years. The rest had no formal training in any biblical
language. The text of the NWT is more of a transliteration to fit theological
presumptions than it is a true translation. This can be seen in key verses
that the WTS changed in order to fit its doctrines.
