There are many reasons why it is time to make a change, just ask around and you'll hear how bad it really is.

Start the change with a new mayor.

We definitely need a change. Van Campen seems like a good choice. I called his office and asked for a call back. He reached out to me within 24 hours. He seems very genuine and hard-working. See for yourself, and spread the word.

why the hell did he reach out?? He wants your vote!! When they get in, they're ALL the same. Little by little, the favors are fulfilled, friends get jobs, their arms get short and their pockets, long.
no way

Van Campen is not promising anyone favors. He truly cares about the atrocity that is happening here and our well is running dry FAST!!! Please dont be blinded by the casino thinking that the casino is going to solve all our problems. Truth is the casino will cause more problems than it's worth. Carlo is counting on it and spending like crazy depending on it. That's NOT leadership.

I thought the question was about a new police chief not the mayor?

So? Just like when you are having a conversation. One thing leads to another and another and before you know it you have discussed many things. The topic of whether or not we get a new chief IS related to who is in charge of the city, if you think about it. So is the casino, which if it comes in will bring issues a police chief will need to deal with.

If it were required that the chief of police lives in Everett, would that extend to the entire police department, or just the chief?

Same for the fire department - I do believe the present chief lives in Everett - but is it a rule? How about the fire fighters - do they have to live in Everett ? I believe that did at one time but don't believe so now.

Rules passed last year requiring new hires to live in Everett. Dept heads are exempted and waivers can be granted.

There will be no casino in Everett. So don't worry about it, it is not going to happen.
We need a new Mayor.
Your right Mazzi does what ever the mayor tells him to do, so he can keep his job.
Trouble is, there is NO ONE that lives in Everett that is qualified to be Police Chief. Van Campen will do good as Mayor, but the problem is the Mayor got Millie Cardello to run,to take away the vote from Van Campen. What does he think people are stupid!!!
