Hi Kevin, Personally I like the mafia dead or in jail.
Most of the lottery money goes to the city and towns. It has a high overhead because the staff and machines do cost money.
I've posted before out here that I don't get mad at the people who work for the state. Instead I get mad at the many more people the state and feds pay to stay home and eat HoHos.
Ron when the wise guys were out on the street you didn't have the punk gangs like you have now. The "Goodfellas" would not allow it. I worked with a guy that lived in the North End. 20 years ago when they started to put all the wise guys in jail he told me now watch all the gangs that will start. And sure enough he was right. If a wise guy wanted to wack someone they didn't spray bullets and kill innocent people the wacked only the one that they wanted.

Cheating and gambling go together like eggs and bacon. Some lottery outlets cheat customers? No surprise here at all. That is news on the same level as "Water is wet."

If lottery officials made sure that the customer screen is visible to the customer when tickets are scanned, it would aleviate most of this problem. In a lot of stores, the only one that can view the screen is the person behind the counter. Usually there is blockage in front of the customer screen preventing him/her from seein the results.

Ron when they put the lottery on the ballot ALL the money was to go to the cities and towns. The crooks who run the state put the money in the general fund for the state employees, don't call them workers, it is an insult to people who work for a living. Welfare mothers sit at home and eat ho ho's and collect a check, state workers go to a state office and do the same, or sleep in a state truck. Welfare mothers are cheaper that state employees, you don't need to give them an office or buy them a truck. If all the lottery money went to the cities and towns, they would not be cutting aid everymonth.

Ron BTW you can't put the mafia in jail, it is full of state employees and pols. They will need room for Sal Dimassi, his cronies, Chuckie Turner, Diane Wilkerson, and all the Boston Firefighters out on fake pensions.

Those damn indians take everything. They own all the stores and they rip their patrons off to boot. This country is an absolute mess. Let's open up the flood gates to all immigrants as this country is not recoverable.

Shirley appears to be the Lottery theft leader. I hear there is another business in town that has a Lottery problem. The locals know about it.

There is a certain overhead though. A state worker is much cheaper than a welfare mom if only because there are 35,000 state workers and one million welfare moms. The sheer numbers are staggering. You then have to factor in how many illegitimate kids each has. I'll take a state worker any day. At least 98% do something for their money. Some state workers work hard and the pay stinks so they are a bargain.

You can put the mafia in jail. There are plenty of them in prison grabbing their ankles as we post on this board.

All of that said I would support a life prison sentence for anyone who steals from the lottery.

Why dont they just put all scratch tickets in those lottery vending machine's and eliminate selling them behind counters at convenient stores.

That makes a lot of sense. Rape and murder doesn't even get you a life sentence most of the time.

- A promotion was offered for shopping on beauty.com
- I shopped on beauty.com , and found out that the promotion was not applied to my order.
- I contacted customer service, and they told me that all my orders were made from drugstore.com
- I informed them that all the orders were made on beauty.com not drugstore.com
- They just replied that it is possible that the site gets switched to drugstore.com while shopping
- Mind you, I did not switch to drugstore.com
- They just told me the promotion could not be applied to my order - as if it was my fault!
- That will be my final order from drugstore.com !

I don't know what this has to do with stealing lottery tickets, but - a lot of online stores do that. I was shopping for a cellphone online, and wound up ordering from three different ones (the first two didn't actually have the phone I ordered.) All three turned out to be the same company. What they will do is buy a bunch of domain names and put up a different web page for each one. When an order is placed on any of them, it goes to the real company. It's similar to the locksmith scam that you'll now find in the phone book everywhere - a bunch of listings with different names, but they're all the same company. And that company will attempt to cheat you - beware! Locally, I know that Post Office Lock IS NOT part of that scam; they are a real business doing honest service.
