That's the only way he can get a vote!

Seems to me that Marchese is the only one who speaks up for the taxpayers. The rest just there looking pretty.

Interesting.

Is that worse than being an Anonymous Coward?

It doesn't make sense for Bobby to run and take a chance. Why lose a over 100,000 job just to take a gamble? If he has any brains he should wait 4 years until DeMaria gives it up and practically walk into the seat. I think DeMaria would back him in that scenario. Say what you want about Carlo, but he can sway a good chunk of votes.

I think the council races will be interesting. What it looks like so far...
Ward 1- Matewsk v. P.Napolitano
Ward 2- DiBiasi v. Mangan v. Marcus v. Simonelli
Ward 3- Dell Isola v. Marchese
Ward 4- Puleo v. McKinnon
Ward 5- Bruno v. DiFlorio
Ward 6- Hanlon v. McGonagle v. Sachetta
At-Large- Sierra, Rodrigues, D. Napolitano,Puleo, McLauglin, DiPiero, Latanzi, Stat, Magno

I also think you will see some new comments come out of the wood work due to frustration with members of government. Some councilors will probably run for school committee as well.

Sorry, made a mistake by putting Puleoin the at large race too. Looks like overall our choices are extreamly limited, hopefully more people will step up to the plate.

Same old, same old !!! Only now instead of voting en bloc, they will be campaigning against each other !!!

I really hope S. Sachetta runs - he has more common sense than most of them. He was a true business man and brings his expertise to politics. I don't think he can be bought !!!

Sierra has more absences than attendance at meetings and votes cast.

Please no Stat this time around.

Matewsky and Peter N.= a very close race.

Round and round we go.....

Latanzi & Stat? I can understand Latanzi, but Stat makes no sense at all.

I only said Stat because he told me he would seek an at large position.

I think the city has had enough of the whole Smith family ...

Oh wait, if he doesn't get elected I don't get a Happy Birthday card !!!!! and that's the only card I ever get from anyone ........

If the right candidate runs against Stat, he's in trouble. Especially since he has to be extreamly careful with absentees. Robert Van Capen should run for State Rep. He could easily win and make a good rep.

If the right candidate runs against Carlo, Carlo can be beat too. As far as I am concerned, it can't happen soon enough!

JUST LOOKING: Wondering, did you vote for Peter N. in November ?? I did as I felt it was time for Carlo to go and Peter would sincerely try to do his best as mayor....

Carlo is busy now, stacking the CC and BoA for 2013. The city's payroll has increased under his (?) leadership, taxes are up and will continue that way, some of it cannot be avoided but I feel he could cut much more out of the budget than he has....(marble fountain is a good example)....

All homeowners have had to really look at their household budgets and make adjustments to stay afloat and I feel the city gvt. should do the same. People (the average taxpayer) is hurting financially.

Anonymous coward would make a good politician has all he needs a sneaky pvssy.
Marchese does not have what it takes, he says what he thinks and is not afraid to do it on the record.

I think Van Campen would make an excellent mayor....but does he really want that position? Would he gamble his alderman's position for a 'maybe' mayoral win?? Millie - not strong enough, nice person but that won't get the job done. Mike M.- better than what we have now. McGonagle - same as Mike M.

So who is willing to run? Who has the big bucks $$$??

BTW, I'm not opposed to a female mayor (Salem, MA mayor is femaleand she's doing a great job !!!)....I just think Millie wants to keep the peace (play nice everyone) and that won't work in a mayoral campaign....

Will be an interesting 2013 for sure....Carlo really needs a primary and people need to get out and vote.....
