I'm in my senior year at Everett high and know very well that FFF is doing a terrible job with the school systems. We have a program at Everett High called "Success Academy". This is for kids who are failing so they put them in classes that are extremely easy and require nearly no class work and NO homework. This is clearly done because if these kids all failed out we'd look bad. Then our sports program, my god the sports program. Our school's funding goes definitely without a doubt to that the most. We even accept students from other cities and have them bussed in just to have them on our football team. They all get brand new equipment every year and it's completely unnecessary. Most of our staff of teachers even supports this. The kids on the football team don't even have to try very hard and I know this for a fact because there are some football players in my classes who say things in class that reveal their intelligence level, yet they remain on the football team and get substantial grades. I'm glad these kids get the opportunity to possibly make a life for themselves but what kind of world are we living in when the books I use in class are nearly falling apart and be barely have functioning instruments in the music department but the football team gets a new stadium. equipment, clothes, the whole 9 yards, no pun intended. It just isn't fair and there's no way that the man who runs these schools doesn't know this is happening. I want to be a teacher here when I grow up but I'm not sure if I'd ever want to raise my kids here just because of the over focus of football in this city.

The "EHS Student" speaking above is obviously a paid political operative of former state representative Steven "Stat" Smith, who is currently in federal prison for voter fraud because the wonderful Superintendent of the Everett Public Schools put him there.

I am not naive: Fred Foresteire is not perfect and has made mistakes.

But his consistent leadership of the public schools in Everett has been a remarkable success story, and if you doubt that, then ask the many, many public school Everett kids like myself, who've gone on to have success in life outside of the city, how they feel about the man.

"EHS Student": when you have success in life outside of the city of Everett then you're opinion on what occurs in your tiny little bubble of a world as a high school when merit some serious credibility. You currently lack the education and life experience to credibly question, from your classroom, how and by whom school funding decisions are made.

Yes, the athletics program at Everett High School is well funded. The reason for this is because the Crimson Tide football program, the ladies' softball team and other excellent EHS sports do extraordinary work and have achieved major successes that make the community, the teachers, the students, and their families feel uplifted and proud.

If you want more funding for your program of choice, then win a championship, and then lobby.

Why on earth would you defend the superintendent? You've become the town whistleblower lately, yet you attempt to smooth over the reputation HE has made for himself. It is well known that he employs people to fish out non residents and to turn a blind eye when it comes to his star athletes (until he finds them housing). That, as well as many other "indiscretions" within the realm of his high salaried job, leaves some of us sour.
Brad. I think you're a flimflammer. Either you're righteous or you are not. Make up your mind. When you "call out" the crookedness of this city, you choose to defend a cast member in the starring role.

I have to say that I thought you were nuts when I started observing your long, rambling posts. After some time, I thought that maybe you've got some valid points. Why else would you continue to embarrass yourself?, I thought. Well, sorry Brad. You're back to NUTS in my book.
Good luck in your endeavors, whatever they may be.

You don't understand what a truly ill-run city school system is like because EVERETT is run like a Swiss watch. You are spoiled!

More like a hamster on its wheel. Those of us who are property owners are considered stakeholders. Most of us cringe when we have to drive around the city when schools open or at release time. Look around. I respect your optimism but I feel that "the glass is half empty". That's all I will say about that.

I think you are a racist. These children are a collection of some of the most beautiful children from around the world. The schools do a solid job educating them. Why you have no hope is sad. Test scores only tell you how needy kids are...that is why rich communities have the highest scores. If you actually talked to these kids you would see that they have great potential and frankly are your future.

Not only is Supreme Leader Foresteire successful in convincing the majority of voters that the school system continues to meet their needs in the same manner as Roman emperors past, namely by providing BREAD in the form of employment and CIRCUSES on weekends by way of very accomplished football teams year after year, he is also able to provide more than enough revenue via "advertising", to each local newspaper so that, unlike most of the rest of the country where the print media is shrinking, thanks to the continued infusion of taxpayers money, the press in Everett needn't be concerned about it's finances. Where at one time there was feuding amongst them, all 3 newspapers now share in this bounty without rancor to their once despised rivals and peace is has finally been achieved . Blessed are the peacemakers. All hail Superintendent Foresteire!

Thats all I have to say except for this. It has nothing to do with racism. It has to do with, we the few, who are contributing daily, working, paying our bills, tax bill included, very high tax bill, state and federal tax bills too, to fund the United Nations and the MANY other non working baby makers of the community. Where's OUR reward? An awesome football team?? Kids are kids. All are beautiful. It's the scamming, freeloader parents who are sucking off the fat of the land, and we keep giving more. Have a few more kids. Booste that free money every month. It's all a game and we lose.

Some observers, when reading the "Thank you" letters to voters being posted by John Hanlon in the local newspapers, are feeling increasingly that come election time that he will be one of the candidates being considered by Supreme Leader Foresteire to oust Representative Matewsky. If Foresteire succeeds he would increase his standing with Steve Wynn considerably. Wynn would, no doubt, be impressed by a character who controls the press, the school department, has an enormous influence at city hall and now would have a state representative in his pocket. What better a choice to oversee his casino operation in Everett?

Foresteire is an admitted and documented thief. I don't.think.a savvy operator like Wynn would ever trust him. Foresteire could.not possibly be capable of running a crap table or dealing blackjack. He would try to pull.the wool over some guy's eyes and wind up.getting his clock cleaned. Guys like Foresteire just don't have what it takes to make it in the real world - that's why they become public school.teachers.
