Sunday herald talks about EHS players one from Lynn another from Peabody. How many actually came from other cities to play here. It's nice to have a good football team, but ultimately it means nothing. So thanks Dib for turning the city into a dump because all those players bring their extended families.

Don't you have to live in Everett to play Everett High football?

Unfortunately you are the one in the wrong here.
Last I checked people who went to public school are supposed to go to the one within their city boundaries.
I remember when i was little I couldn't go to the Centre School and was forced to go to the Lafayette....

Also, do the football players who come to Everett to play pay to come here? If not, why should I pay for them to come here?

The rules are you have to live in Everett to play on a team. However, it seems like those rules are only for a chosen few.

Sadly, our school administration leaders place more importance on football than on scholastics. They are a pathetic group of people that actively seek out star athletes from other communities to come live here - with the promise of housing and other assistances.

You people have lost touch with reality, school administrators have nothing to do with recruiting student athletes, that's insane maybe dib will recruit but no one else

AUNTIE: I think you've got that absolutely correct !!!!!

These 'players' are, for the most part, not what I call "Everett people" ... chances are they did not attend Everett schools in the lower grades and will be gone from Everett after they graduate ... Does that sound reasonable..?

I'm sure there's plenty of them that don't even live in Everett.

You people are so clueless its not funny. Sorry Mr. Know-it-all but YOUR taxes don't pay for kids to attend EHS. The taxes you pay to the state of Massachusetts pay to fund ALL public schools in the commonwealth. Your taxes are not ear marked for Everett public schools. To the rest of our spoiled sports. If Everett didn't have the successful program they have our poor city would have NOTHING to cheer for. There is absolutely nothing good or positive in this town anymore other than the football team and the music department. NOTHING! Prove me wrong name something else to be proud of?(crickets chirping)

About 35% of the operating budget is funded by local property taxes.

School choice is a state law which allow students to attend schools in other cities and towns. However, it is an opt-in law meaning that a school district's school committee must vote every year to determine if they want to participate and accept students from other districts.

The Everett school committee takes a vote every year not to accept school choice. The reason that they give is existing overcrowding.

Therefore. Everett schools are only supposed to be for school age children from Everett.

To anyone interested. Dibiaso does definitely recruit from other cities. Its a shame that boys can play on an Everett team that don't even live or pay taxes here, and families that do pay their taxes, their children can't even get on the team or are on the team and get benched. Everett has always only catered to football. And to Clueless Lot...if the only thing you can cheer for in Everett is football, then you really need to get a life.

Name something else to be proud of? The city has become the ghetto.
