I didn't know there was an issue around greyhounds smoking marijuana? Hoping that is just a typo.
Well I believe that a society that hates all laws and eventually has no laws, drifts into some serious issues. Laws were created for a reason. Most people do not have the ability to regulate their own behavior. In the absence of laws, you have chaos. If people were smart enough to do the right logical things all of the time, there might not be any need for laws, but most people need to be pointed in the right direction. The behavior of most people is based on emotion and not logic which means that behavior is erratic and can be dangerous to others. Hence we have the need for laws. Everybody doing what they want sounds good in theory, but in actual practice one person's good time could become another person's nightmare. Idealism has to be based on reality.

I imagine it was a reference to the greyhound and marijuana issues from last year's ballots.
Laws to protect people's lives are good, so I love the mobile phone law, but it's true that the calorie-listing on the drive-thru menu law seems silly.
