What makes anyone think if a casino is built it will be around here?
What about this area makes it a viable option?
This area is not a viable option and never will be. The days of Fitchburg being a industrial mecca are long gone. Fitchurg had many chances in the eighties to develop the only available industrial land along Rt.2. The incompitant and corrupt leaders in Fitchburg at the time along with complaints from Leominster and neigbors put that to rest. All that industrial land is now residential and it all has been developed. Fitchburg is a bedroom community, its just not located in an area where it is cost effective for big industry to do business. Fitchburg needs to consentrate on Main St. Go through any small town or city in NH, ME or VT that has half the population of Fitchburg and you see a thriving Main St. with shops, resturaunts, gallerys. If there is ever going to be a casino it is going to be loacated in an area close to the Mass Pike or Rt.95, I'm sure they want to make it easily accessable for the high rollers from Boston and providence and Hartford. I connector to Fitchurg would not work because of the cost just think of all the homes and business's that would be lost through eminent domain. The airport is Fitchburgs most important asset, believe or not many business's are located in the area because of it's close to the airport.

Our Main Street is filled with druggies, bums and shady people. It's a dump. Plus it's a one way. A one way? Who does that?

Hey Fizbo....You are wrong on Sen. Flanagan playing "follow the leader." Rep DeLeo is president of the House.....Flanagan is in the Senate and her boss is "Senate President Murray."
Time you took a class in Massachusetts Government isn't it?

We really need to get this casino thing going here in Massachusetts.I really don't understand what the problem is with legislation. The money that will be generated with a casino and slot machines could be used for so many avenues where the state see fit.
We have a Racing Industry that has taken a beating
because they have no back up from the state. We are losing our dog tracks and we have a Racetrack which
brought a lot of fame and revenues to the state in the passed decade when things weren't so Inflated.
I'm a horse trainer at Suffolk Downs. I've been around horses all my life and would hate to see this business go down because, If this State can Build bridges, build new building, Then I no this State can see we need to build this casino bill,
so we can keep our racing people and others employed and happy with our Legislators!
