Womens health is such an important community issue and thats why Im proud to host this forum every year, Speaker DeLeo said. The forum is an excellent opportunity to come together, speak with experts and get the best health information out there. Medical advice changes so rapidly that it can be difficult to keep up. I believe this event is an exceptional resource and I hope to see a large turnout this year.

Throughout his tenure as a public official Speaker DeLeo has been a leader in supporting womens health initiatives. Speaker DeLeo co-sponsored the bill designating October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and, for the last 17 years, has led a team of Revere and Winthrop residents in the annual Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk.
The Legislatures FY14 budget boosted funding for womens health measures, including the launch of a post-partum depression program and increased funding for cervical and breast cancer treatments.

A number of local health providers will be present to provide information and light refreshments will be served.
