As stated in this article. AFM might take a few
steps backwards. If so it will only be to weed out some of the idiots on the Board. Yes some of the dumb board members will be the first ones to go. That will not be any of the Wingos.

From the News article: http://www.publicopiniononline.com/ci_1156089...

After AFM applied for tax-exempt status in 2000, the IRS told the board to diversify its membership to include non-family members independent of the organization, according to correspondence between the IRS and AFM obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.
However, AFM's tax documents list only Wingos as board members until 2006, when five members without the Wingo name are included. One exception during that period is Else Panter, who is listed as treasurer in 1996. It's unclear whether Panter was a board member.

Churches concerned about feeding the needy shouldn't be worried. Simply direct the poor to any discount/close-out grocery stores for equal savings comparable to some of the same items sold by AFM.

The Wingos will probably end up leaving the board for the cell block.

You could not be further from the truth. Did not hear about the Wingo's victory in Judge Ott's court room today?

Not a victory. It was a settlement. They lost the credit cards, $120K in income, and have to have an outside firm audit the books. That is far from a victory. This does not change the fact the the feds are going to get'em. You have to remember that this was a civil court and the parties could agree to settle the case. The net court will be criminal, and they will go to jail.

The Truth,
The Wingos settle to keep their dirty secrets out of the public eye a little longer. Federal Marshals are not as nice as the attorneys they face Fri.

If you will google this topic, you will find that Tioni King and her ex-husband have a civil suit against AFM and the Wingos, as Tioni was sexually harrassed by Andy Wingo, then Tioni and James were fired when they filed a grievance about the harrassment. Other former employees have suits because they were fired for not attending Emmanuel Praise Church, a pre-condition of employment at AFM. And then the two Board members filed the lawsuit to remove the Wingos from any connection with AFM because of their mis-appropriation of funds. None of these suites have any connection to the raids by the FBI and IRS. Those details will not be revealed until their investigation is complete and charges if any are filed. The case in Judge Otts court was an out of court settlement between the board members and the Wingos. The settlement removed Linda and Andy, Left Joe and Wes in charge. Removed Joe from the middle man position on the jet issue in which he was clearing $11,000.00 a month and took the AFM credit cards out of their pockets.

There will undoubtedly be more on this as the feds reveal what they are fishing for.

I knew this was going to happen, I have been watching this "ministry" (if you want to call it that) ever since it's inception. It walked like a duck and quacked like a duck....

My son got a job in the warehouse, operating freight handling equipment. He was paid fair money but with strings attached. Once he got hired he was told that he would be required to attend "Emmanuel Praise Church" the church that hosts the home of AFM and is pastored by Joe Wingo. He would be required to become a member and give 10% of his pay to EPC. I saw that as very ugly. He did not attend the church because our family has church membership elsewhere and we don't hold the same doctrinal beliefs that the Wingos preach. The few times that my son did attend Emanuel Praise church, he told me that the main focus of the teaching is about turning your money over to the religion and God would give you possessions beyond your wildest dreams. He said that hearing that type of doctrine preached in what is portrayed as "Gods House" made him feel dirty. He was eventually fired for not becoming a church member and not tithing.
They are linked to and friends with television evangelist Kenneth Copeland who regularly spews that same type of "earthly possession" doctrine. The following link will take you to the WEBSHOTS sit of Wes Wingo the son of the founder Joe Wingo and as you view his photos you will see the personal connection to Kenneth Copeland, the extravagant lifestyle, the operations of AFM and EPC, but mostly the pride of the possessions. http://community.webshots.com/user/weswingo

A few things that annoy me about the so-called ministry: If it is to truly help hurting people get cheap food why was there so much profit being made? Why not help more and lower the food price even more?
I never liked that all four members of the Wingo family (Joe, Linda, Wes and Andy) are "Church Pastors" and receive Pastor pay.
I never liked seeing those (caring Souls, The Wingos) sporting around town in An Escalade, a Hummer, A Jaguar and those type of vehicles, while forcing employees to be members of the church and tithe.
I never likes seeing so many City of Monroe and Walton county law enforcement vehicles out there at AFM on "Distribution Day" those vehicles are paid for by taxpayers...
I never liked that church officials that were in supervisory positions carried handguns while at work at AFM.(what is that about?)
I always found it odd that some of Walton counties top leaders left County and city jobs to go to work full-time at AFM.( check AFM web-site, list of ministry leaders.) Al Yarborough, former WC sherriff, Kitty Yarborough, former WC magistrate Judge, etc.
I never liked that on Distribution day employees were (and maybe still) allowed to take home large amounts of food (I have seen dozens of pickup-trucks leaving, fully loaded with food.
I have much more but you surely get the gist, this thing became rotten after the big dollars started flowing, I could see it in '03 and'04 when my son worked there and I knew this day was coming. I predict that the ministry will survive, But the Wingos will probably go down. The ministry will be better for it
