Personally ,I believe that what this teacher has done is far from acceptable wearing a pentacle is no different from wearing a cross. This teacher is obviously close minded and/or sheltered if she believes that there is only one religion permitted to adorn any sort of religiously affiliated jewlery and such.

I agree, there are too many people who are close minded, christan assholes who think anything non-christian is the devil. It makes me so mad.

I think that what happened is unacceptable. I were my Pentagram neckless in school all the time and nothing is said to me. I really don't see the big deal it is just those closed minded people!

That is the work of the devil!!! Be strong and overcome that nonsense. I would not want my child in school with that mess. Lets get real. What would happen if that was 30 or 40 years ago. I salute the teacher!! Job well done! Keep up the good work.

If this were to happen to my child, the school board better move fast to deal with the teacher, before I got in touch with the news media. It is religious bigotry, that's all. My wife, myself and our two children are Wiccan and I will not allow this kind of insult to my faith - particularly when it is visited on my children.

You are just as closed minded as the teacher that made the girl remove the necklace. There's more than one religion and you need to realize that. It is people like you that give this religion a bad name.

I agree with WiccanRN that you are close minded and i would also add that you sound like a religious fanatic and bigot. My granddaughter wears her pentacle to school and nothing is said and my other granddaughter decided to start wearing hers after her teacher called me to tell me that he and his wife were "GOOD Christians and attended church functions etc" What does this have to do with school and being a teacher. She wears a cross with a pentacle in the middle and her teachers attitude towards her has now changed. I get weekly notes about her behavior because she is always playing with her necklace. Oh well if it keeps up i will be going to the Principle. She is 7 years old and her sister is 9 and they put up with no bull about their beliefs. The older one will tell you in no uncertain terms that the devil isn't real, we don't worship it and that it is a Christian belief developed to keep Christians doing what the church wants and nothing else.

Here's something for the Christians to chew on... in the early days of Christianity the Pentacle was used to represent the five wounds of Christ. I am not Christian, I am in fact a Wiccan and I wear my Pentacle with pride, and have done so for a very long time. In high school I was told to remove my Pentacle, I answered thusly:
"As soon as Christians remove their crosses, or Jews remove their Star of David, then, and only then will I remove my Pentacle. It is a sign of my religious faith, and telling me to remove it is a slap in the face of the 1st Amendment. And if this harrassment goes on, I will contact the ACLU." The school stopped bothering me.

To learn is to read, go back and you will find that christian religion was formed from pagan roots, down to the little fish you all have on your car, which origins came from the pagan fertility and represents the vagina of the woman.
Along with easter, who was the goddess of fertility, and whos totems are the rabbit and egg, different aspects different visions. We dont go from house to house telling you what to believe, and I can wear what I want.
Please educate yourself ingnorence is un-attractive

Xtian Warrior is just another example of a religion of hate. Jesus was the first communist, preaching giving away all property & money, but too many have become this pack of Nazis goosestepping around & dictating the rights of everyone else. That's why we are so hated in the Middle East. Xtians instigated it with the crusades.

And Christians are wondering why the rules are changing. If children like these are not allowed to where their special things, then no child should be allowed. But yet, when such rules are made so things are EQUAL, it's shouted that everyone is after Christians. What a joke! They are the ones forcing this problem!

I have to agree. My school will not let me wear my pentagram. I remember going the administrator and he call my mom saying" your daughter may be involved in satanic practice. My butt. See we all try explaining ourself but we get no where. I think If the christians are allowed to wear a cross,( i see this everyday) the we should be able to wear our own symbols. The country needs to straighten up and stop to think, they let other religions do as they plz. why can't we

I have to agree with WiccanDaniel on that one. It's funny how religions that don't even believe in "the devil" supposedly worship him and do his work. The teacher deserved harsher punishment in my opinion. When I was in 9th grade, I got a book on Wicca taken up from me because it was "questionable material". They took the liberty of calling my parents, who knew of my religious beliefs, and telling them about it. My parents told the principle that they knew I was Wiccan. I asked for my book back, and they refused to give it to me without a parent with me. At the same time a student-office-worker was in the office with a Bible hanging out of his pocket. When I commented on this all that was said to me was "whats wrong with that" and I was sent back to class. If Christians don't agree with Wiccans or see eye-to-eye with us that is fine with me. But when it comes down to trying to punish us for exercising the first ammendment, I believe stricter punishments should be enforced for prejudiced finger-pointing. If a Wiccan teacher had done this to a Christian Student for wearing a cross than it would be on every news channel and in every newspaper in America. Where have our freedoms gone to???

The removal of religous articles should go for all people not just christians. If someone wears a pentagram it should be taken off. If you had not noticed students cant wear crosses, stars of david and other religous jewlery.

David,
Only in 'some' places where the rules are enforced aross the board. So that a persons religan is kept privte, so that they are not 'judged' based upon their religan. Like this teacher in this story. SHE can not handle someone not of her faith. Even if she hadn't done this, she would assume that child was from a 'bad' home, wasn't learning 'morals', etc. She wouldn't act the same towards that child as she would others. And that child would have NO CLUE WHY?

Since there are some Christians who refused to have 'devil' stuff around AT ALL, other are demanding the same respect. In those cases, rules were past so NOTHING is worn, shown, etc. EVERYONE treated equal.

Sadly, some people NEED such rules. They can not control their own behavior around others. Yet when asked to act 'equaly', they claim THEY are being perscuted.

They can't have it both ways.
