Lawmakers discuss 2010 referendums with real estate professionals

Constitutional referendums slated for Florida voters to consider next year will either kill development or ease developers' tax burdens, legislators told a group of Orlando-area commercial real estate professionals Thursday.

This ballot initiative is a vote for mob rule. A gross voilation of property rights and typical of the Marxist direction this country is headed.
It can also be used to keep Blacks and Hispanics away from established neighborhoods.

Yet another attack on democracy. Any law, movement, or other attempt at circumventing the will of the people is an attack on democracy.

Obviously it is "the people" who pay taxes and not business. This is because these costs are not only passed on to customers, but they are also used as a deductible expense for income tax purposes.

This attempt at undoing a ballot initiative is akin to manipulating your vote. Florida, of all places, should be familiar with that.

This amendment is designed to shut down our economy and make Florida's recession permanent.

Florida's economy is too dependent on development and that is why revenues are down. We should have diversified Florida's economy decades ago. When Mike Bennett and his cohorts created and passed SB360, they unwittingly helped the Florida Hometown Democracy (Amend. 4) movement. Developer greed may be responsible for getting Amendment 4 passed. The bottom-feeders' stinginess clouded their judgement. There is a link to Hometown Democracy below.
