TAMPA BOB AND SEAN T WRIGHT: HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICE, CALLED THE BUS-HUB SYSTEM AND EXPRESS BUS SERVICE?

THE ALTERNATIVE TO COMMUTER RAIL: Now, wouldn't that be unique? A service that picks you up near your home, and takes you to a weather protected transfer station where you change to the bus that will take you to your destination. Some of these could be located in Mall parking lots or on a street that does not have a lot of traffic.

Physically challenger people will not have to wait for a special bus, middle school children may be able to ride the bus-hub to school. Each bus would have security cameras on them.

People can leave their cars at home, and they would only add 30 to 45 minutes to their travel time in each direction. That is the goal.

Bus stops on the roads would be indented to avoid traffic ty-ups. Some routes would be direct to the work place. Some routes could be privitized.

IMPLEMENTED BEFORE CHRISTMAS 2008 IN SOME AREAS OF CENTRAL FLORIDA. This system could have been in operation after the defeat of Mobility 20/20,
however, your elected Commissioners and Metroplan are suffering from the dreaded desease of COMMUTER RAIL ITUS. A tunnel vision syndrome that effects proper sight of the overall Mass Transit problem.

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE BUS HUB SYSTEM?

EMAIL ME AT cklein2@bellsouth.net and I will send you the highlights. Then you can put the CART BEFORE THE HORSE, the way your elected should have been working for the good of the "sovereign government of America." Instead they decided to waste $41 million on more analysis of a rail system. Thus, violating the mandate of the people.

Tampa Bob and Sean Wright, which one of you is really open minded? It will be interesting to read you remarks.

I worked in transportation for over 30 years.

PUTTING THE HORSE BEFORE THE CART IS WHAT THE BUS-HUB SYSTEM WILL DO.
MICA AND CROTTY AND THE SPECIAL INTERESTS ARE NOT INTERESTED ID DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR THE PEOPLE. THEY PUT THE CART BEFORE THE HORSE.
WE NEED TO PROVIDE A SERVICE WHERE PEOPLE CAN LEAVE THEIR CARS AT HOME, THE BUS-HUB DOES THAT.
WHEN PEOPLE ENJOY RIDING THE BUS, THEN YOU CAN PUT IN A MONORAIL SYSTEM. NOT A RAIL SYSTEM.
DID YOU FILL OUT A SURVEY?

Obviously its impossible to reason with idiots. You have bought in to the whole touchy-feely BS that is promoted by the extreme liberal left. If riding the empty rails is so important to you, you may want ot relocate to a place that has it. I gaurantee you won't have any trouble finding a seat. Sean, its not about service to the community, its about liberals like you forcing ill conceived bad ideas on the rest of us. Frankly, I work hard for my money and i am sick and tired of financing bad ideas that keep on taking more and more cash form my pocket. You are typical big nany-state government. The problem is that most of these ideas ar promoted by a smal group of loud mouths that always seem to get center stage, while the vast majority can get a logical word in without being called names. The fact is that Orlando wouldn't even gotten this far if it wasn't for some under the table back scratching by folks that were not intersted in serving the community but, rather in making a pile of money. In a few years after this boondoggle gets built, the Orlando sentinal will be doing investigative articles on how some rich Republican made a ton of money through pay-offs etc. The article will say nothing about what a great service the ill functioning train is providing to the folks in the I-4 corridor.
You attack the other as name callers but then you go and do the same??

Charlie:

Great concept, which I would be in favor of especially if it included bus-only lanes and/or bus separated lanes to speed the busses along. Also, busses are a lot more flexible than fixed route systems. And express commuter buses would need to be a major part of the system.

We need to let Tallahasse know that we don't want this corporate welfare anymore! Out with CSX in with Amtrak!
Amtrak will never be efficient as long as they operate on other rail carrier's lines.

Cut the ad hominem nonsense and blog on the issues. This junk makes you lose all credibility.
Terry, Their is something your not aware of here, which was this guy I had deal with before.

Terry, If you read their was not one even thought this gentlemen had. It's called flip-flopping. It hard to stay on a issue when their is not one even thought.

Terry, just a suggestion to you here. You should look at the way you addressed this. I have been in the business world for along time even when I blog I try to have manners as much as I can. Do you think someone would have that feel about your address here?

Just yesterday the SunSentinel & Post Beach Post reported ridership had and was increasing on Tri-Rail. Tri-Rail is moving forward with progress almost month to month.
My family ties go back in Orlando to the 1950s. Orlando has never had a good program for public transportation. In the 1990s you had the Link's system. While interesting it did not make complete sense.
If Tri-Rail ridership is increasing month over month, South Floridian's are getting the message. This can carry over to Central Florida. Central Florida Rail is important to the Orlando community & suburbs. Orlando is growing to fast to not have it. Most of us who follow this in South Florida are for Central Florida Rail. Tri-Rail & Central Florida need to be one in this project. It is easy to see a Vision of Florida in 2020 with good commuter rail across the state. This will help our economy in the long run.
Now CSX, I understand why they are wanting this. Historically Rail Lines do share liabilities, but their is something else happening that I have alerted several Central Florida Lawmakers to. CSX is being attacked heavily by the Boston MBTA over an accident from a Lumber Yard in Massachusetts. Without a investigation even concluding the MBTA filed suit against them. In the last week I have read heavily on this and my opinion is their is more liability to the lumberyard than CSX. This attack by the Boston MBTA is do to bad leadership on their part. The MBTA has attacked CSX on this issue really over money. Here is the problem with this over Money. The MBTA is so quick to sue CSX, but the MBTA along with other Mass. Dept.'s has lost millions of dollars on a building named after my family(The Carruth)on the MBTA's property in Ashmont Mass. The MBTA is not doing one thing to recover & estimate the lost of Mass. Tax Payer's funds over this. Why because James Keefe, Trinity Financial, Inc. is connected to high powered people in Mass. & his VP Vince Dorser worked & has connections with Mass. Housing. The MBTA Leadership is corrupt up their and CSX is getting the most of it right now. All while Mayor Menino is allowing corporation's & developer to profit of Mass. Tax Payer's & Mass. Property.
If I was subject to what CSX is experiencing right this second in Mass. at the hands of corruption I would be here wanting the shared liabilities too.
Hi, the MBTA was stupid enough to negotiate a contract on the Stoughton line (where crash happened) where they had no liability even if there were to be an accident that they normally would be responsible for. Now that the MBTA is trying to purchase right of ways for one of its most delayed lines, CSX wants the same deal, but alas we've learned not to bite.
Central Florida is really going to miss the commuter rail when gas prices are even higher and the highways even more congested. You may want to think for the future on this one, then again im not the most read on the subject...
