Winston-Salem Man Charged with Sex Crimes Against Girl

Authorities charged a 42-year-old man with sexually assaulting his 9-year-old niece over the past six months.

Arrrrrgh. MAN this burns me up. Another Adult against kid story... almost every day. Are people really this hard up? What is wrong with people today? If this is true, this scumbag has a few years of his own treatment coming to him. If it was my kid, I am not sure i could control myself. BTW... where are the girl's parents? They should be charged and punished as well for endangering their kid's life that way. They had to know SOMETHING was wrong after 6 months. Please pray the girl finds a foster family that will be able to deal with what is certain to be a lifetime of psychological issues.

Why is it that the crime is always referred to as "indecent liberties with a child", when it is RAPE??!!! That is a much worse offense, and a just charge, in my book. How is it different when it's a child? It's actually more horrible to happen to a child, yet the charge seems to minimize it. Words like "molested" and "sexual offense" don't begin to convey the trauma, either. The justice system is way behind on rectifying this - personally I think that's why it happens more frequently now, because it's not considered very serious. Get with it!!
