Can someone tell me how safe these streets are? Gas vs Electric

Urban, Rundell, and Kirby. I am interested in renting some homes on either of these, are they safe?(well.. for the norm?)

Also, they are gas/electric, I am accustomed to only having electric and I am not sure how much that may run normally? A guess?

The only one I would even "possibly" consider is Kirby. That could change once I actually saw the neighborhood as I haven't been down that way in a long time.

Just areas that seem to have started that long slide downward. I've certainly lived in tougher neighborhoods but probably wouldn't choose to again. Any of those could be a step up from where you are or not. It's all about perception and experience.

Right. Well I live in a rough place anyway, but that city's crime is higher in general.. But is it bad, like a chance at getting shot walking out the door, or robbed... or just bad if you mess with bad people they mess with you. I found a place on Ardsley? as well is that a step up?

The vast majority of Winston is relatively safe so long as you use the normal caution. There are few areas that I would be afraid to walk in. Of course, I've lived in some much larger cities so I come with that mentality of go about your business and be aware of others at all times.
It gets hard commenting on specific areas without knowing anything about you. Also, one end of a street may be perfectly acceptable while the other may not.
You're showing as Parkersburg WV, which is not a long drive. Perhaps collect a few addresses, make the drive down and do some scouting if possible. As I used to travel through, I believe it's only about 3 hours each way which with good planning could be accomplished in a day if needed.

I can, I go down frequently, though am usually around Peter's Creek Parkway area. And I am unaware just by looking what may be safer than others if you kwim. Here there are plenty of great looking areas but are rather roudy to be honest.

That is true.I sometimes find it hard to get a good snapshot of a place at first. I find that time of day that you visit as well as the day itself can be most important. A quiet street at 4 PM on Weds can be a nightmare at 10 PM on Saturday. I actually live near Peters CRk and have for many years. Many might tell you that it is unsafe, yet I have never had any major issues.

I have actually heard it is unsafe :) lol. But the people I actually do know who have lived there have never had an issue. And I am familiar with that area.

Yeah, before living here, I lived in the downtown area before the current revitalization efforts. Many asked if I was scared. Back then, after 5 PM there was hardly anyone on the streets..what to be a afraid of?

Do you maybe know about these other areas listed here?
