You really think it will save you money lets look at it...They want to take 14 cents per HUNDRED dollar of property valuation...lets say you have a total assessed property of $100,000. That would mean your property taxes would increase by $140 dollars a year.

I think I can afford a couple stops at the used book stores while I'm already in the city and not even come close to spending $140 a year on books. Also by joining book clubs and sharing with friends and family I can save as well.

I would bet more than half the people that would be taxed to pay for this library system would never even step foot in one of them.

The fact is they are taking from all to support a few in the community and that is a form of SOCIALISM!

I for one would love a library in Clinton County. We pay to buy a card at the branch in Clay County.

But, 14 cents is way too high. Where I moved from it was 3 cents per 100. Much more reasonable.

Also the library had other programs besides just reading, such as various free classes and programs. They also had a program for teaching adults to read and vision/hearing testing.

For my family, it would SAVE us money. Last year we spent $112 paying for library cards for our family, not to mention the gas and time to drive to another county and KC to use those cards.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Sagittarius

You'll feel friendly with everyone you meet today, and you might even be lucky financially. Money should be coming in, but going out rather fast as well... Astral influences will keep you on your toes, and will probably make you flirtatious, but they could also make you moody. This makes it tricky for close relationships to run on an even keel. The truth is, perhaps you don't want too much closeness at the moment. Your partner probably knows that you're often like this, by now, anyway.
