I sure think so. Is every woman there a harpie and every man a sexist condescending pig? I have the unfortunate luck of having to deal with folks from Norfolk on a regular basis and have never in my life run across such a group inconsiderate and rude people. Every single person I have come in contact with seems to think that they are far superior to anyone else on Earth. Is this town a gathering place for people who cannot get along anywhere else? Are you folks as awful to each other? Is there something in the water that makes residents of Norfolk socially inept? This is not an isolated indecent. this has gone on for years. Every person that I have come across that also has to deal with anyone from that town comments on the disgusting manners and sense of entitlement among Norfolk residents. Is it maybe just the folks I'm dealing with? Because let me tell you, if they were anywhere else, they certainly would be shunned as completely without redeeming qualities. Here's your chance, if any resident of that town has any shred of decency and decorum, please speak up. I would hate to believe that a whole town could be that clueless and rude.

You sure sound a little bitter about something. Let me guess, you were fired for being a deusch and now are mad at anything Norfolk? I am sure "everyone you know" is familiar with Norfolk residents. The entire town of Princeton MO must commute to Norfolk to work, just like you. Sounds more like you were called out for being a whinny loser. Well if the shoe fits.

I don't go to Norfolk (who would?)and I'm not sure what deusch is. Could it possibly be a misspelled slam against Germans? You surely didn't mean douche, did you? Because I'm not one of those either. I think we can safely add stupid to rude. Actually several folks in my town buy a lot of stuff from a supplier in Norfolk, and we are considering buying elsewhere, partially due to the stupidity and rudeness. I am thinking that the social retardation in the area may be die to lack of education after reading these replies.

English Speaker, if you're going to insult the lack of intelligence of the people in an entire region, you might want to make sure you proofread your comments.
To answer your question, informed googler, there are polite people with proper social graces who live in Norfolk.

I can't believe all the negative discussion that is taking place about Norfolk. I grew up there and moved to the "big city" of Lincoln several years ago to attend college. I still have many family & friends there, that are simply warm, friendy, educated, and HARD WORKING! Perhaps "informed googler" should try visiting other cities, states, and even countries to see just how sheltered your view of Norfolk is when compared to MANY other places.

Never ceases to amaze me how those unfortunate souls who live in Norfolk dont understand. I grew up there, graduated high school and college there, raised a family there and I HATE IT. Norfolk is the shit hole of the state. Luckily I escaped from there and have no intention of ever going back. Best thing to ever come out of Norfolk? THE HIGHWAY!!!!!!

Really listening to people is an amazing past time, respect given is usually respect gained, and it the "sore thumbs" that stick out in any community. And yes every community has them and sadly enough, usually those who point them out fit in the same category without even really knowing it. Call it ignorance, call it apathy, call it "I can't be happy anywhere I am" syndrome. Working with teenagers on a daily basis, it is easy to understand where they get their attitudes when adults are acting in the same manner.

I had lived in Norfolk for 25 years, then I moved to MN,wow what a difference. Business is so much lighter and easier. Norfolk for some reason is always somewhat of a fight in dealing with people. Even just to get a phone call returned. These people from Norfolk are oblivious to this, for some reason they seem to think that you owe them for doing business with them?? They have a morphed since of reality which is probably why Norfolk's economy has only went downhill. I have since moved back to Nebraska and still have contact with family and friends in Norfolk but I refuse to contribute anything to their community. The way me and my Husband think- is if more people demanded some sort of social integrity from these people they might HAVE to change.DON'T ALLOW THESE PEOPLE or ANYONE TO DISRESPECT OR TREAT YOU RUDELY. IT IS YOUR MONEY,YOUR HEALTH,YOUR BUSINESS,YOUR TAXES. Come on people grow a back bone. Honestly I grew up in Norfolk so i believe most of these people dont know any better but let me tell you if anyone of them were dropped off in a bigger city guaranteed they wouldn't act this way. Oh well they will have there riverwalk or waterpark to get tourist,ha goodluck Norfolk!!

Are Norfolkians rude? Yes. But so are most people from rural Nebraska unless you are their relative and have lived in the community for a couple of generations. I have lived in the Norfolk area for many years and almost got out once, but fell in love with a woman who was tied to the area. Fortunatly, she has come-around as we have gotten older and agrees that there is no reason to live here unless you enjoy backwards self-loathing assholes who enjoy cutting others down much more than trying to make the world a better place. Gay? most Nebraskans hate you. Liberal? Ha! not even our Democratic Senator is a Democrat. Educated? Tough luck: nobody wants to have a discussion around here about anything but the Huskers and corn prices. Stupid, backward, uneducated, and inbred? Nebraska (or Missouri)is the place for you. Unlike Informed Googler I have been to the place I am dismissing-- Missouri is the 7th circle of hell. Are business people here jerks? Many of them. Like most rural towns, Walmart has killed most of the unique locally-owned businesses. The employees of most chain businesses in Norfolk act like they are lashed and beaten when customers aren't looking. The downtown business association has some wild plan to start calling themselves the River District, but can't seem to figure-out that if they keep pissing-off younger shoppers with things like their attitudes toward skaters and brown people they won't have any business in a few more years. The economy sucks too much elsewhere to move now (home prices great, jobs, not so). Once we get a chance, we are out of here. If you are thinking of moving to Nebraska (I can't imagine why) go to Omaha or don't bother

Everyone in this town thinks they're King Shit. From the ton of crazies brought here by the regional center, to the over abundance of meth heads here, to the "my shit don't stink and I'm a better christian than you" rich (they think they are anyway) business owners. Ya this town's a joke. Swimming pools going to crap, A/C out at the library, but be sure to spend a bunch of money for a speaker system on main street! The city council is full of morons.
