Speaking of clueless, did anyone hear the jest of the Obama speech addressing the state of the economy. You don't need to have of money to feel wealthy. Don't measure yourself by your money. Nice Job Obama, only 80,000 jobs last month....Oh yea, he says he knows people were worried about how skinny he looks. He assured them he has been eating well on his multimillion dollar bus tour. I'm glad he is eating well, while 50 million Americans have been programmed into food stamps by an attitude of worship me (the government mentality) Oh, I hear he (Obama) passed some new legislation. I guess Congress was not involved. Nice President you got there DAWG...

Congratulations to Republican legislators who just denied around 9.2% of Pennsylvanians the right to vote with the new Republican "voter ID law."

The Republicans are now getting so brazen that they don't even deny what they are doing. Last month, Pennsylvania GOP House Majority Leader Mike Turzai made a comment about the legislation that opponents branded as a candid admission that such laws were designed to suppress votes for the benefit of Republican candidates.

"Voter ID -- which is going to allow Gov.[Mitt] Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania -- done," Turzai told a group of cheering attendees at a Republican State Committee meeting.

Judge Richard Posner was appointed to the bench by former President Ronald Reagan, and has earned a sparkling reputation as a conservative jurist. But Posner, a judge on the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago, says the current incarnation of the Republican Party has driven him away from conservatism.

In a candid interview with NPR Thursday, Posner opened up about what he sees as a “real deterioration in conservative thinking” over the last decade.

“I’ve become less conservative since the Republican Party started becoming goofy,” Posner said.

Posner’s remarks are likely to delight the left, although this isn’t his first liberal embrace. Early in his career, he served under progressive lions such as former Supreme Court Justices William Brennan and Thurgood Marshall, but Posner veered toward the right after he began teaching at Stanford Law School in the late 1960s. Since his 1981 nomination by Reagan, he has become one of the most widely respected conservative judicial thinkers and one of its most prolific writers. He is a lecturer at University of Chicago Law School and has written dozens of books on law and economics. In recent years, however, Posner has grown disillusioned with his erstwhile allies on the right.

The latest bit of right-wing goofiness to draw Posner’s ire: the speculation over the Affordable Care Act decision. Posner called the conspiracy theories that seek to explain Chief Justice John Roberts’ opinion to uphold the law a “very serious mistake” on the part of conservatives. Roberts, Posner suggested, might also realize that he has no home on the right.
“I mean, what would you do if you were Roberts?” Posner said.“All the sudden you find out that the people you thought were your friends have turned against you, they despise you, they mistreat you, they leak to the press. What do you do? Do you become more conservative? Or do you say,‘What am I doing with this crowd of lunatics?’ Right? Maybe you have to re-examine your position.”

Posner has spoken out recently against other conservatives on the court, namely Justice Antonin Scalia. After Scalia’s fiery dissent in the Arizona immigration case, in which he took aim at President Obama, Posner wrote in Slate that Scalia was becoming a political actor:“It wouldn’t surprise me if Justice Scalia’s opinion were quoted in campaign ads.”

Over the past two years, several on here have posted the numerous accomplishments made by President Obama. Whenever we answer you, you launch into a vicious biased attack on his provided record. I have stopped playing your game.

If you were to encourage your so-called representatives to try cooperating instead of continuing to do their "foot-dragging in lockstep," the economy would undoubtedly be better. Unfortunately, as Rush Limbaugh told us up front -- you do not WANT President Obama's administration to succeed. Thus, your "representatives" have done everything in their power to ruin the economy.

As far as I am concerned, that is treasonous! Do try to live with my judgment!

As pointed out above by "Hermit," even good conservatives are getting tired of the childish non-cooperative behavior of the Republican House Representatives in general, and the clueless "Tea Party" representatives in particular.

If you want some "numbers," provide us with the times that the US House Representatives have blocked all efforts on healthcare reform, job creation, and all efforts to improve the economy.

What has Your President done with HIS term in office. It is HIS term isn't it? Are we going to play the blame game again if he wins a second term?(GOD forbid) I can't blame my life's successes or failures on what happened in my past or someone that came before me in my job. 2009-2012 is HIS Presidency, what has he done. He had 2 years of a Democratic controlled congress. He has had the mainstream media in his pocket. What has he done? Oh,he prevented a depression that no one truly knows would have happened bailout or not.Blame - deflect - deny - lie - these are familiar attributes with a great majority of the "problem" citizens and dependents in our society. Liberalism at its' finest.......

Wonder who said this?

You guys are bright enough to look at the numbers. I came in and the jobs had been just, like falling off a cliff. And I came in and they kept falling for eleven months. And then we turned around and we’re coming back. And that’s progress. And if you’re going to suggest to me that somehow the day I got elected, somehow jobs should immediately turn around, well that would be silly. It takes a while to get things turned around. We were in a recession…There will be some people who try to say, you’ve only added a few thousand jobs since you’ve been in.’ Yeah, but I helped stop — I didn’t do it alone, the economy’s a big part of that, the private sector is what drives that, up and down — but we were in free-fall for three years.

A person who wants others to believe the country is getting better despite the facts that it isn't? A politician? A person who does not have the slightest clue what real life living is about? A former President? A current President? I know who did not say it, a person busting his/her butt to support themselves and or their family.

‘DON’T READ TOO MUCH INTO IT’: JUNE JOBS REPORT MARKS 31ST TIME THE WHITE HOUSE ADVISES VOTERS TO IGNORE DATA

After the Labor Department announced on Friday that only 80,000 jobs were added in June, the Obama administration was quick to assure voters that this is somehow a “step in the right direction” and that we shouldn’t read too much into the data.

“[I]t is important not to read too much into any one monthly report and it is informative to consider each report in the context of other data that are becoming available [emphasis added],” Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers Alan Krueger writes on the White House’s official website.

Really? We shouldn’t read too much into the Labor Department’s figures? Okay, let’s play along for a moment and agree that, yes, one monthly report does not provide enough historical data to let us conclude that the job market is doing poorly. We would need several reports spanning several months to do that.

Actually, you know what? We do have several reports and we do have months of figures. And you know what else? Krueger advising on Friday that we shouldn’t “read too much into” the Labor Department’s June report isn’t even the first time this has happened.

The White House has been telling people that they shouldn’t “read too much into” unemployment figures since November 2009! In fact, the White House has said those exact same words 30 times over the last three years.

Don’t believe us? See for yourself [via obamaisntworking.com ]:

June 2012:“Therefore, it is important not to read too much into any one monthly report and it is informative to consider each report in the context of other data that are becoming available.”

OBAMACARE COPIES SOCIALIST GERMANY

Those who think socialized medicine is just an “all good” program that keeps you healthy while somebody else pays your medical bills ought to think again. Socialized medicine takes whatever you have, whatever it can get from you. If you have financial means, it will take your money and your rights. If you have no money, socialized medicine will take your rights – even your religious rights.

Recently, a German court, no doubt encouraged by the European system of socialized medicine, ruled that circumcision, even for (especially for?) religious reasons amounts to a bodily assault. In doing so, the Cologne regional court, a creation of man supported by a secular system hostile to religion, cast aside five thousand years of Jewish tradition and practice.

The system that spawned that type of thinking is now here in America. It is found in the 2000 page monstrosity called Obamacare. Using Obamacare as their weapon, Barack Obama and his socialist thugs in Washington are, this very day, preparing to trample on America’s tradition of religious rights. They are gearing up to force Christians, especially Catholics, to pay for abortions for their workers. Regardless of what the calendar says, in terms of religious freedom, we are entering into Nazi Germany of the 1930s.

So far, America’s secular Jews have not seen fit to join in this fight.“When they came for them, I didn’t fight because I wasn’t one of them…. and finally, when they came for me, there was no one left to fight for me” comes to mind.

The German court’s explanation that“The religious freedom of the parents and their right to educate their child would not be unacceptably compromised, if they were obliged to wait until the child could himself decide to be circumcised,” is the kind of cynical secular attack on religion we can expect from Barack Obama in the months to come.

While the court equivocated as to the guilt or innocence of the doctor who performed the operation on the boy, who happens to be Muslim, it made itself very clear about its opposition to parents’ rights to decide what is best for their children.

“The body of the child is irreparably and permanently changed by a circumcision. This change contravenes the interests of the child to decide later on his religious beliefs,” it said. In other words,“This gives the religious world an edge on the secular world, and we don’t like that.”

Trampling on religious freedoms based on a secular government’s disapproval of a religious practice is exactly where Obamacare will bring us. Any religion he doesn’t approve of will be fair game.

When Catholics are forced to pay for abortions, can the day Jews will not be allowed to circumcise their baby boys be far behind? This is a real and present danger. Vote conservative.
